The 456 sold for $137,500!!!!!!! Holy Crap! They said it was a rare six speed and that its a one owner. The owner when asked about service records said there were none , the car didn't need service!!!!!!!!!!!! There is sucker born everyday!

I thought they said it hadn't had a service as it only had 2K on it... I'll have to rewind TIVO. Certainly not enough miles in the past 5 years!!!

That 456 went for WAY too much money, IMHO.

What do you think about the Diablo that preceeded it?? If everything at B-J is too high, what do you think the right number for the Diablo is??

Remember that the buyer of the 456 also had to pay an additional 10% "buyer's premium". So total cost is over $150K! Holy smoke, I think I'm going to go buy a few and take them to BJ myself. (Someone got very lucky and it wasn't the buyer)

The early Diablo's go for about 110k. I think the price was close depending on service and clutch remaining.

No, not at all. Most times Ferrari's do poorly at BJ auctions. Most times the cars sell low or at retail at the most. I think the 6 speed was bought by people who don't know the 2+2 deal. That being that they tank in price historically. I think that was maybe a 100k car. Then 5k for service needed due to age and that may be 7k. I just think the buyer didn't know the market.

well I remember Ponder's RM auction this past April that sold his '99 355F1 Spider w/~10k mi for $121k + 10% for a total of $133,100.00.

THAT is BIG money for a non-Fiorano spider that has been driven (the 456 only had 2400 mi).

Alcohol + ignorance + electric auction atmosphere + great looking italian marque = $$$$$$$$$$

most just wanna be on t.v.. They will record it, and show it to their grandchilderen in 10 years. The auction is a joke.

BUT.. The people that are paying big money (still to come) are people who won't miss the money no matter what the economy is doing. If they can afford to be the top bidder at the auction this year, they will do it, without hesitation. If you have 100 million in the bank, whats 2 million on a Hemi cuda convert? Nothing. They make that up in the interest alone. Big money is in a class by itself.

Next year, I'm going to sell my 2003 Nissan
Sentra GXE 4 door sedan at Barrett Jackson.
It has approximately 83,000 miles - 1 owner.

I hope to get at least $ 67,000. USD

First time i've watched any of this auction. some dumb ass was running up a car i can't remember, but it was probably 30-40k over valued. When the price cracked 100k, the announcers called him a hero. a hero! i was thinking chump. also, did you notice that none of the guys smile when they win? if i just purchased a sweet car for a good price on national tv, i'd be jumping up and down. i think their frowns tell it all.

I'm very happy to see it. The talk on the 550/456 section is of suprise also.

I think it's full retail and then some. But if it's the car you want, maybe not too much. I waited for mine for three years.

Remember that a short number of years ago these were the greatest GTs any manufacture in the world could offer. So, maybe it wasn't too much. 40 miles a month might just be to keep her perfect. I'm sure that the new owner will now splurge on an oil change and belts to protect that investment.

Now, What other ferraris are out there? Everyone knows you don't bring the cars to BJ. That makes the 456 even more surprising.
