    Hello
I have been lurking here for months. I have become good friends with the search tab and have learned much. I would like to thank the many insightful posters who have both taught and thoroughly entertained me. I also subscribe to the FML.

I am moving into the exotic car market and have been looking at three cars in particular: 360, 360 spider, Gallardo. Today I drove a 2004 E-gear Gallardo and an F1 360 spider. I am coming from a 2003 911 Cab (6-speed) which I have enjoyed a ton for almost 5 years but it is time to move on. I am almost certain that after driving the Spider and Gallardo today that the 360 Spider is the car for me. I originally had concerns about the F1 transmission not being “as fun”. Those fears were washed away one glorious and smooth shift at a time today.

My questions today are regarding a specific vehicle:

2001 360 F1 Spider 9k miles, Rosso Corsa over Tan, One owner car, clean carfax, FERRARI CERTIFIED , up to date on all service, and includes a 1 one year power train warranty, just had the MAJOR SERVICE performed. Equipment includes, dual power seats with red piping, Alpine cd player,V12 amp, and cd changer, built in radar detector, shields, red brake calipers, challenge rear grill ,tan rollbar hoops, and extended leather. This is a Ferrari dealer car.

What is a fair price for this car?

I have read here that some forego the PPI on Ferrari Dealer Certified and Warranted cars…any thoughts on this?

If I do get the car PPI’d should I go to Alex Traverso as recommended by previous posts.

    Thanks in advance!

    Jason

I don't care if the care is under warranty, Ferrari certified and has the blessing of Jesus himself. Get a PPI.

Maybe $140-145, I see '04 and '03 at $160 at Ferrari dealers. Push them hard on the price, its a buyers market for sure. That said, this car sounds well sorted out and would be a good first Ferrari buy! I didn't get ppi on my car and I was just fine, check to make sure all campaigns are up to date.

One last thing, if it is a Ferrari dealer owned car they will have a lot more wiggle room. Most dealers have up to 30 days before they have to write the big check on the trades, so if you are close they are not going to want to write out the bank check, they will sell!

Good luck and post pics as soon as you get your new toy!!!

    Thanks for your advice.

Anyone go to Alex Treviso for a PPI?

From reading past posts I thought that a car could not be called "Certified Pre-owned" if the campaigns were not up to date...is this true?

I really like the car but I tend not to get "married" to them so if I cannot get the car for what seems like a fair price I will move on to the the next one.
