Jackson and co always are always saying how the car is such a good deal and worth a mil, if it is such a steal. Why don't they put there money where there mouth is and buy one themselves?

GM leads plenty of the time. Performance for the dollar is just one area.

Use of exotic materials and processes such as titanium exhaust, magnesium castings (and I am not talking about with this ZR-1, but YEARS ago), as well as things like the first to do active handling/yaw control, MR shocks and other things that have been copied by (gasp!) Ferrari.

I was impressed with Jay Leno's speech before they sold the '09 ZR1. Jay is so cool; such a down-to-earth, self-depricating kinda car guy (the best kind). $1m is pretty darn solid money, imo, for basically getting serial #1 and a nice VIP delivery package of the ultimate Vette.
Still, that being said, BJ seem to me to be getting a little less desirable every year. Anyone else concur that?

Sure did and he actually sang the Dukes song pretty damn well!

I did cringe though when he stood up on the roof in his shoes. Ouch! He should have known enough to stand on the top of the door or something - not on the roof1

I was joking , that's what the announcers keep saying. I agree with you. I also liked the Vette for list price.

Or (as I suspect is the case here), have enough money not to care what other people think or what the future value will be.

Good job to the buyer - if he is happy, thats ALL that matters, regardless of how much others on the internet (who don't have the bank to make the purchase) think he/she overpaid for the car.

I have read some stupid things on here but that takes the cake.

I will disagree with you there. There are so many repro's of the orignal at every major car cruise so IMO the car wont loose that much popularity.
