bit of an update, spoke with one of the guys from the dealer and this is what he had to say....

"Belts have been done and it is recommended that they are done every 3 years, the Ferrari specialist that has performed the work that we have done to present the car has confirmed that the belts will need to be done in about 18 months time. We have put a new clutch in the car, 4 new tyres, reconditioned the rims, fixed all oil leaks, rectified gearbox, all sensor lights are off, in fact I spent around 12k on the car getting it right. I did some interior work too so it looks great. All mechanical work that I have done to the car has been done by Maurice Puglisi who is a Ferrari Club Committee Member and also is the Ferrari Concourse Judge. I am sure Maurice will be happy to talk with you about the car"

its not a single owner car, its also an import and has no dealer service history, its a trade in they have from another deal and as of tomorrow its for sale at $119,000AU....is it too good to be true...im starting to think so.

The steering wheel is on the 'proper' side, did it come from the UK, Japan? Maybe some FChatter in its original country knows it or might be able to get some info for you. If you can get the chassis number that might help.

Suggest you have a look at this thread:

I believe there are a number of issues with the car (fire damage/rebuilt?) and I don't think that there is any record of a belt service on the car unless they have just done one. I would tread carefully and get a very thorough independent PPI before going any further.

Northy - I also called these guys yesterday and their caginess about the car and not wanting to give too much information away I found suspect. I even called Maurice and he was better, but still not exactly forthcoming with how much work has had to be done to the car. Sure they have spent a lot of money on the car, but as others on here have said it's probably still not right and will need whoever is foolish enough to buy it to spend lots more to get it even close to being a lovely 355. Someone has owned this car and it's such a pity that they haven't treated it with the care that every Ferrari should be.

I now have no intention of buying this car, the dealer pretty much tells you what ever they think will make you buy the car, was just posting the VIN to see what other info is out there that they are trying to hide...
