Awhile ago Dave said never jump start your 400. What about changing the battery? How should this be done?

Disconnect the ignition box first. Then the battery. Install new battery and connect. Now reconnect the ignition box.
The reason you do it this way is because the factory ignition boxes are very sensitive to electrical spikes. Jumping a 400 series is the fastest way to blow the factory ignition box.
Would it be ok to just take the old battery out and put the new one in? Probably, but why take a chance?

I had my car towed to Damon at fusion sports, and he diagnosed the problem..never had a problem with my car before I tried to replace the battery. After putting the new battery in, the car was only running on 6 cylinders. So that's why I would listen to Dave on this one.

I have disconnected and reconnected my battery at least 30 times and changed to a new one once and no such problems here. I have never disconnected my ignition box (it is the original one or type). Okay, look for the posting in 10 days when I finally blow it up!

If I didn't care about jinxing myself, I would say pretty much the same thing about my battery, which has a disconnect switch on it, and I would add that I just put in my second battery with no problems. But I do care, so I'm not saying a word!
