Hey guys, If any of you have read the "F-chatters meet" thread you know that we found out my recirculator flap was broke off at the plastic part... (New brass part ordered from Ricambi today) My question is I wanted to make sure the motor for the flap was working (it does) but it just spins one way with the recirculation button off and the other way if I press the Stop button. When does it stop? Does it need the flap attached to it to make it stop? If so I guess there is some kind of pressure switch? Any help would be great, thanks in advance.
1. Make sure your the "broken" pin is drilled out from your flap, and you're ready for the new pin to slide right in. 2. Connect everything together, but don't actually put the flap into the box. Use the HVAC to 'close' the flap and just watch how it spins and where it stops. 3. Disassemble everything and put the motor and pin into the evap box, along with the flap in the 'closed' position. 4. Tighten up the motor, and you're done. ...at least that's how I did mine this summer when I needed a new pin, and it worked just fine. -dp
Yep, it has a "feedback'' type of sensor in the motor that makes it stop... which is why it snaps the plastic pin off. I guess Ferrari thought adding a couple $2 external limit switches would force them to raise the price of the car $6K-$7K and the idea was squashed. Reg, as always... the offer to help you out with this task stands. Just let me know.
Recieved the parts in 3 days... thanks Daniel and David. I'll try to fix the flap, and replace the HVAC overlay this weekend. We're going to be getting rain off and on all weekend so won't be taking it out anyway
