Tell you what celsius fahrenheit any way you look at it it's still F@#kin COOOOOOOOOOLD. Last night we hit -46 C with the wind chill. Yet I still had a bowl of ice cream.....lol.... I don't know of any other place in Canada where you go from -45 c in winter to + 45 c summer talk about drastic....
Are you serious, you get +40 C in summer? The hottest it gets in Melbourne isaround +43 C on certain summer days (we had a bout 5 of those days already this summer) but mostly it stays around +27-35 C in summer. In winter in Melbourne it gets around +10-12 C during the day and +5-7 C at night. I found out when I was little in Russie (Vladivostok) the coldest it would get around -15 C and warmest +23 C.

Benjamin Jorgensen, 38, and his accomplice Donna Hayes, 36, were sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to robbing the restaurant in the southern Australian city Melbourne on April 1 last year. During the April Fools Day holdup, Jorgensen grabbed what he believed was a bag with the Cuckoo's daily take of about $27,000 in cash but later found it was full of bread rolls, the Victorian County Court heard. He also fired his gun accidentally during the heist, shooting Hayes in the buttocks. Judge Roland Williams told the robbers they were a "pair of fools," before sentencing Hayes to eight years in prison and Jorgensen to seven.

If you look at where I live on an Atlas (Regina Sask)you will see I live in a very arid Province we get most of our precipitation in the winter, we are the sunniest place in Canada and hold many heat records, I love it here in the summer we get 3 months of hot sunny weather almost continuously we do get some good summer storms too and we have a million beautiful lakes mine is only 22 min from my condo to the yacht club. I stayed out in Van many times and you couldn't pay enough to live there, don't get me wrong it's an absolutely beautiful place and when the sun shines WOW, but that's just it the sun does not shine frequent enough for me I get extremely depressed if it is cloudy all day. I was in Van when they had 18 straight days of showers they broke a record. I would rather put up with 2 months of extreme cold and sunshine than 4 months of mild winter in the dark. Gulp...........Now I'm going to get it.........
So you live in a small country town? Isnt it a bit quiet? From what you have said, it sounds great though. The funny thing is, now that Australia is in the drought, rain makes me happy. Before I used to feel down when it was raining... I guess you guys have plemty of water lol But yeah its nuts that you can get +40 C in summer... its Canada. near the North Pole and polar bears!!!! I cant stand 40+ C here in summer but it happens quiet rare!
Thankfully for me, I (and my family) love the rain and the overcasted weather (seriously!!). Coming from an extremely hot and humid (coldest ever was 27 C's) country, the "coolness" of the winter months is a refreshing change. I just hope my wife and kids would be able to say the same a few years down the road!

There is worse: Bangladesh during the monsoon....when I was living there, we had only ONE period of 24 hours WITHOUT rain in the entire month of June, and a totasl of 5.4 METERS of rain in a 4-month period! Or Helsinki in Winter: No sun for almost 5 months, and it's so dark that some businesses never turn off their neon signs.

Small city yes, our population is around 200,000 just perfect for me we have the best of the big city life with small town comfort and ease except crime then we're #1 ..we're#1 ...we're #1... That's OK too, they just kill themselves off but that is another topic. As for way up north not really there is a lot more land than you think we are the second biggest country in the world second only to your call letters which by the way makes me laugh, I don't know if you ever viewed a show down there call SCTV it was a Canadian sitcom in the late 70's early 80's. They had a skit where Mother Russia would cut in to broadcast propaganda and there station call letters were THREE C . P ONE RUSSIAN TELEVISION (you have to say it with a Russian accent......lol)probably not funny to you but up here it was pure genius....

Well in my city 99% of all crimes and especially murders are with the aboriginals it's quite embarrassing because of a system that clearly doesn't work, most of the aboriginals live on welfare and are involved in local gangs and they literally fight each other but the government just keeps giving money. We have a the first state of the art University built specifically for the aboriginals and after three years of operation it is in dire straights and about to close. Also in the last month a settlement was reached to pay out to the families of abused aboriginals that went to a specific school in the early 1900 in Saskatchewan some horrible stuff happened, but when they started to pay out the dividends someone suggested to monitor the payouts or pay it out in small increments not all at once but some other idiot spoke up and everybody received one lump sum. Out of all the millions that were paid out and I mean millions 2 out of thousands purchased a home the rest has been already blown on a 4 week bender...... and the majority didn't even realize why they were getting the money, it's just frustrating.....
