Demo, I am glad you posted. That's all I was asking for. An answer...anything. Sorry I came across as rude. But many people started doubting it and then you dissapeared making it worse. It happens too often around here and I thought it was yet another hoax. Thanks to you & modificata for posting the info and pics. As you say, it's still cool to see even if you buy it or not. Also, if you have anymore finds please do not hesitate to post.

Hopefully the car will get what it deserves and we'll be seeing in on the street/track as it should.

    Best,

i wonder what the cost of a full mechanical restore would be on this car ?

Obvious the engine would have to be redone, with the tanks, shocks, bushings (all ceased im sure).

Any real numbers out there to venture a guess ?

Thanks Modificata for the detailed pics.

Very simple answer to that. The trip was never reset.

    Beautiful pictures! Thanks so much.

The trip was never reset ok.... but the tripmeter reads higher than the odo (non-resetable) meter....
I guess both start at zero so it's quite weird.
To be honest, I would rather buy a F40 with 50000km that has been well maintained (and driven) than one with 500km that has been stored in a humid barn.
    Very nice find though!

Actually odos don't usually start at zero - they are usually a few 10s of km short so that when tested/delivered they show closer to zero! I imagine Ferraris have a greater "preset" to enable more pre-delivery testing.

Omg... what have they done to that poor Renault-Sport Spider???
It's almost as rare as a F40 (less expensive though ;) ) and the only factory option was a windshield.
The one in the picture was delivered without but it looks like the owner found some plastic at the local hardware store :S.
Below is a picture of my spider with my M3, mine was delivered with the factory windshield.
And yes it's a blast to drive!

Owner must have been nuts. No roof and no a/c does not make a good combination in a country that needs it all year round! Brave buyer!

What I'm saying is that I've seen cars (not Ferraris) with more miles on the trip. than the odo. Not sure how/why this is/was. That's why I suggested this.

I agree with the assessment of the exhaust appearing to have a lot more miles than shown. Maybe only being started and run every once in a blue moon could cause "sooty" black smoke to leave it's mark on the tips?

I really have no clue what I'm talking about.;) :D

Been to the Kingdom? Everything gets covered in the nasty dust/sand. Dirt is not an indicator of use or lack of use there.

i mean the the anti-flamable stuff that covers the gearbox-tunnel (sorry, not an english native ;) ). look at picture of the interior, there's stains all over the place. looks more like useage than dust.

EDIT: not to the kingdom but 5 times to dubai, love jumeirah, the harbor and the gold souk.

if the owner wants to play with the mileage ,,, it would be better not to leave the car in such garage at the first place ,,,

i dont think that this guy needs to play with the mileage they just dont care

well i don't care if he does either. it was just an educated guess regarding the trip mileage discussion 2 pages before, not more. that this guy doesn't care is more than obvious i think.

to me this car is not a issue of money, it gives me a sad feeling that such a piece of history is not appreciated. is this guy now gifted because he can dump a couple hundereds of tousand dollars or just poore because some things seem to have lost their value to him ...

Tobias, I understand what you are saying regarding the "carpets". But this car has obviously sat for many years hence the 1" dust covering it. And if you look at the conditions they are not very good. Something tells me that the "techs' at that shop don't wipe their feet when they get into the F40 unfortunatly. :)

    Demo,
Thanks for starting the thread and having thick enough skin to come back. It looks like Saudi Arabia is the place to hunt for barn finds galore.

Lets see pics of your 930! Ferrari guy or not, a 930 is a very sweet car!

its good to see that the car is real , but the owner should be shot for letting the car sit there for that long and ending up like that.........................i dont care what or who you are letting a car deteriorate to that lvl shows he just doesnt care........
