"A Timeless Piece For The Watchmaker" - the drawing of Chris' Ferrari 348

As the topic says, this is all about a drawing for Chris (VTC the well known Fchat watchmaker and sponsor) of his imaculate Ferrari 348! This one is going to be somewhat special, so lean back and be patient as it could be a little while before it's finished!
Synchronize your watches and enjoy your popcorns and your beers gentlemen, but save a little for later, since this drawing is double the size of my normal works and will require a lot more work and time to finish! This could very well end up being one long thread!
As usual I will upload pictures along the way as the drawing evolves!

Your imagination will have to make up for the colors, since it's made in black on white only, although the black and grey nuances will appear to be numerous when the work is done!

The detail work has been started......slowly starting out with the details of the wheels! They should become much more realistic later.......I absolutely LOVE your BBS wheels Chris!

This time I've added a few close up's

You may note that the outer edges/lines are still "very rough".... That is totally normal for all of my works at this stage, and it is one of the things that helps to prove that this is an entirely handmade drawing, and not traced from a projector image or something like that! The lines will be drawn up again and will be much more sharp and precise when the drawing is finished!
The photos are not nearly as good as I wanted them to be Hopefully the next ones will be better!!!

Seems your capabilities match mine, and I have a funny story about exactly such a picture: We had an art teacher back in school who was really obsessive with us having to be creative and wouldn't accept low quality (Carsten, he would have loved you ). So when we had "advertisment" as a topic, all my friends were drawing and painting through their nights and spending endless time and came up with some amazing posters. I just took a pen, drawed a figure equal to yours and wrote "No drawing skills? Visit the ART SCHOOL, Phone 12345..." under it. Seeing his face when I handed it my "piece of art" was priceless, but he had to accept it


Okay, don't want to hijack the thread. GREAT 348 so far, I'm as always speechless

 

I don't know either I'm affraid, I just do it!! I bet that I would screw up completely if I ever tried to repair my wrist watch, but I would have 100% faith in leaving such a job in your hands!!!

Funny story, Back in scholl I was very popular (among the teachers) for my drawing skills, but not always quite as popular (again, among the teachers!!!) for everything else
