Drove a 599 for a whole day... and

what an interesting experience it was. The car is an absolute rocket, and well-behaved around town, cruising with the A/C on in traffic no problem at all. A spectacular piece of engineering. But, not a car I would ever want to own, unless I had access to a lot of police-free roads in perfect condition and/or a track. I felt like I was driving the space shuttle -- you are so removed from the road, even with 600hp the traction control off and a mile of empty on-ramp ahead of you. The car has far, far too much potential to be driven anywhere on public roads within ten million miles of what it can do without endangering a lot of lives and your license, and possibly your freedom!

Sorry... I'm a Dino guy, and I guess that's why I didn't buy a 430 or a 360 or a 599. $150k over list???? Buona fortuna (or however they say it!)

Hell - the thing didn't even leak any oil! But it turned a few heads, even on jaded Worth Avenue in the middle of the Cavallino!
