BMW made 891 Tourings (Station Wagons). All of the tourings got the bigger 340hp 3.8L euro motor. I just picked up vin #1001, the first one made. It's a kick to drive and people keep pulling up next to me and sticking their thumb in the air. I'm used to getting a different finger. There are about 15 in the USA.

Assuming you mean M5 Touring. They made more "Tourings" than that because a "Touring" is more than just the M5. :)
    But yeah, they are great.

I wasn't very clear was I. Yes it's an M5 Touring. A master tech at Stevens Creek told me "they never made those". I think that's pretty funny.

When I clicked on the link, I was hoping you got one of the Daytona Violet ones. It seems about 1/3 of the e34M5 Tourings are Violet.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the old girl puts down. it might have the lowest numbers of the day. But I don't mind.

    Wow,

I like that. Did you take it?

    Edit:
There were some crazy Audis and VWs. Are you on NorCal or Vortex?

Yeah. I took it. I had my wide angle lens on at that time so I wasn't able to get too close of a shot.

I am on golfmkv.com. There were only about 7 of us there. Here are the rest of my pics http://dreamscaptured.com/v/TI/

....were these officially imported into the US?
How did you sneak one into the People's Republic of Calfornia?

I would love an M5 Wagon, current or past generation. We are actually contemplating an e55 or e63 amg wagon for our next family car.

They were never imported into the US. Neither will the new M5 touring. I did it legally. To bring a European car into the country you have to use a Registered Importer. The R.I. takes care of all the conversion and documentation for the DOT, EPA, and DOA. He has to change lights, speed-o, some labels, and various other parts. He drives a fully customized e55 wagon he bought from a Swedish TV exec. It's amazing. I can ask him about what it would take to get a new M5 wagon here in Ca. It would add approx $20k to the cost of the car. A lot of that is customs fees and bonds.

Here's a friend's web site. I have another M5T on it and he has three. I'm going to do a restoration on this one and then sell it. The black one on his site is mine and I'm going to keep it, maybe. http://euromcars.com/
