Would motorcycle 29mm valve shims work in a 328?

IIRC, I heard Volvo shims are compatible.

I believe most Fiats, Lancias Twin cams, Volvo and 2V 308 uses the same valve shims.

The 2V 308 shims are 33mm size, also come from Volvo. My question is very specific to 29mm shims, readily available at many motorcycle shops.

Not with the 328 or 308QV, only with the 308.

    To actually answer your question:

Yes; 29mm shims are used in a few motorcycle applications
No; They won't work in a 328 (for the most part), as the motorcycle shims are much thinner that your typical 328 shim. Doing a "typical" 328 valve adjustment, the shim range will fall between 3.75 and 4.15mm. Most of the motorcycle shims end around 3.00 mm.

In that 328 shims are readily available, typically for $4-$8 a shim, why not just go to a Ferrari aftermarket vendor...

    Regards,
    David

Thank you, that is the answer I am looking for. It is not the price, it is having to wait 3 days for the right shims to arrive.
