Perhaps not in the same league, but the work by Jin's shop was just as impressive on this 30-year old bike I resurrected from the ashes.

PS: The Club's Dyno Day is coming up on Saturday March 8th and we would love to see you bring out one of your toys (Diablo GTR??)! Your SVR's dyno run last year sure was a crowd PLEASER.

It's going to take place at Carb Connection in Kirkland and they have a brand new ALL WHEEL DRIVE dyno.

Yo Roy witch one is more fun to drive the GTR or the SVR???

 

If I had to pick....it would be the SVR over the GTR...

 

Although, the drive from Portland to Seattle in the GTR was the most fun I've had alone since I got my first computer and internet! LOL I think my kidneys have finally recovered from that journey but that was AWESOME! I can say that the SVR is more comfortable than the GTR...especially on the freeway. And of course, putting fuel in the GTR takes some tricks learned at Cirque Du Solilei (sp) LMAO.

Both cars are a BLAST to drive...that GTR at over 100 is enough to make you wet yourself...would LOVE to drive that one on a track one day...maybe PIR track day when the weather clears!!! WOOO HOOO.

It's no gimmick at all, actually quite amazing. I have had on several of my cars, some for two years, and it still beads water better than any wax or paint sealant, and I still haven't had to polish it. I'll let you know in another five, but I don't see it going anywhere. Have it done to your car kimcheebowl and I'm sure you'll be a believer too.

jin wow you're back from the dead good to hear from you!

 

Well Jin, it dramatically hardens the varnish, not allowing minor wash scratches. It is a nanotechnology product that makes a molecular bond to the paint and forms a matrix, which is a very tight wound bond of a ceramic/silica like material. Waxes and paint sealants do not "bond" to the paint at all, therefore they are not permanent. This is just the information I got from my installer, but you can call Matrix and talk to John, he can explain it all to you. It's really a very different, yet innovative product. I believe metropolitan detail in lynnwood offers this service, or at least did. I know Atomic 80 had his 997TT done there maybe he will chime in with his thoughts.

 

Thanks Aaron for pointing this thread out. I do have the matrix nanocoating on mine and yes, I do believe that it works well. I admit that I was somewhat of a skeptic at first but after allowing them to work on mine, I'm a definite convert:

If you look at the last few pictures, you can see how "wet" the paint looks. This is how my car looks after every wash. I haven't had to apply any wax/polish since. I encourage anyone to give these products a try.

 

Hey Atomic80, gorgeous car, I saw your car in Metropolitan Detail as it was being worked on. I love the wheels on there, they look great. I think they were installing Venture Shield?
