    Can anyone tell me if you are required to attach a plate to the front in new york state? i was pulled over by cops but given a warning only.

    I asume you are new to NYS so you should pick up a motor vehicle manual and check it out. As we migrate more and more to photo radar and stop lights these will be policed more. The warnings will change to larger fines and so on.

    I've never been pulled over for it, but I have been given tickets for it after being pulled over for something else. You'll learn that some LI cops aren't so cuddly!

    Front plates are required in New York. Most exotics usually don't use a front plate. This works most of the time except when you pass through a toll, then you are an open target for a fine. Most exotic cars at Captree don't have front plates and the cops ignore them.

    They are notoriously non-cooperative. That is being polite. It is also my experience, having been nearly knocked off my motorcycle w.wife on back by a Suffolk PO.

    Try Port Chester cops. They are downright contemptible!
