    Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody knows anything of the history of the follow car, currently for sale:

    http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/340804.htm

I believe this is car 86762, previously for sale elsewhere back in late 2007.

It appears to have a number of modifications including wheels and brakes.

    Thanks

    Freddie

Having looked into this further, this car does appear to be quite heavily modified and the original parts not all available. This looks like a nice car to buy if you want to drive it rather than just add to a collection, but maybe not the best from a future values / investment point of view?

I understand that the other car that is for sale that was also at Michelloto (for a full restoration after fire):

    http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/287244.htm

has similar (but less extensive) upgrades, but that the original wheels, seats etc are still with the car.

Any views on how these two cars compare? I'm looking for something a bit more original/unique than a bog standard car, but if a modified car is less desirable to others in the market, perhaps I should be buying a standard car and then changing the wheels, exhaust etc. myself and keeping the old parts?

    Any advice welcome.

Get an original, and modify it if you want. It will cost much more in the long run to try and return a modded car to original (without original parts included in the sale)...

    If you mean this one:

    http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/282383.htm

I have seen this also. This is extensively modified, by DK Engineering, and also not as good general condition as some of the others.

Does anyone have an idea of how much it might cost (GBP) to fit 18" Enkei wheels, LM seats/harnesses, Tubi exhaust, perhaps upgrade the brakes, etc?

    Cheers.

Ball park, about 20,000 pounds. F40 parts aren't cheap!
