No plans at the moment to busy with work. Glad you're enjoying the new ride. Did you sell the 308 or playing with both ?

Aaaaah - wrong - if you replaced European with Italian, you may be closer to the mark :D

And of course, the "septics" are arbiters of all good taste in the automotive world?

308 had to go to get the other.
Only rich people can have 308's and 355CH at the same time - hmmmmmmmmmm, thinks, maybe there is a business opportunity in moving hot air around? :D

308 still in WA though and lives with a real enthusiast - see it regularly - nice :)

    Yep

Shelby what? - a hot rodded AC, or hot rodded Mustang?
I would hardly call either of them original concepts.

As for Corvettes - HOS until Lotus fixed the handling.

Either of them classics? No, in MHO.

Interesting diversions in motoring history? - sure.

who said anything about having to be innovative ground breakers?

a 60s mustang or early vette is a wonderful thing. comparisons with equivalent-day Ferraris is a bit pointless, they are what they are

to not be able to appreciate them for what they are, as a 'car enthusiast' is an unfortunate spot to be in!

Yes, until you need to stop in a hurry or go around a corner. :)

The argument depends on your definition of "classic".

Mustangs and Vettes are entertaining and fun to own up to a point, but not classic, because they were mass produced, cheap and had modest abilities unless significantly modified. Would you call an MGB classic? In the UK, the deeply sad classic car magazines discuss Austin A30's and Triumph Heralds as "classics", whereas we know they are just puss boxes.

The problem is that "classic" today usually means "old and shiny", not significant, innovative, beautiful, rare and historic.

I would have thought your definition of them as "classic" had an inferred connotation of innovation in style or engineering.

    1. I didn't compare them with "equivalent-day Ferraris"
    2. I didn't say I didn't appreciate them for what they are. They are OHOS, I appreciate that.

    :D

I love the sound but hate the car, still not as good a sound as the new MM exhaust on my QV :)

it's got a sweet spot at about 4500 and turns into a scream above 6500 ... police were not impressed this morning :(

no points deducted but a warning to be nice

Forgot to post these pics of Scott's NGT!! :):)

He was VERY nice to take myself and PP to FF's w/shop to check out his F50 and NGT. :):)

Both cars are simply INSANE! Immaculate machines and I was lucky enough to sit in the NGT too. Scotty and George used a tire lever to squeeze me in there though. We almost had to call the Fire Department to come and cut the roof off the NGT using the jaws of life to get me out of the car!!:eek:

Amazing sitting behind the wheel of a purpose built race car! First time ever for me. All business in that car! Very cool! Thanks again my friend!! :):)
