Ridiculous. PLUS, add in the buyers premium of 10% + AZ taxes.... wow.

If the new owner joins f-chat, he'll get razzed pretty heavily.

Not that I'm looking to sell my Fcar, but if I ever do, I will definitely seriously consider one of the BJ auctions.

As someone said on another thread - those bidders have more money than brains!

    Cheers.

It had less than 2500 miles on it and they said it had never been damaged/repaired etc.

The car got a lot of help being displayed in the main tent. I also think that because of all the attention the "muscle" cars get at BJ, when a Ferrari does show up it certainly looks unique!

True. But not always have the Lambo's and Ferrari (older ones) got the money and respect they deserve at the BJ auction. It's more for the American muscle. RM auctions is where it's at for Euro cars.

What service are you proposing that it should have had over 2,500 miles and 4 years?

If it were my car, I'd have changed the oil at least once (I usually change the oil in my cars at least annually), but that's about it.

Any of you guys watch the poor 456 on ebay??? Just closed today, no reserve auction, salvage title in CA, was hit on the side pretty good I guess, but supposedly repaired by a Ferrari place, Emerald green w/ tan hides. Nice looking car went for a bit over $38k! I was SOOOO tempted! 17k miles...

You replace the hoses in your car after 4 years?

I believe the current factory recommendation for belt service is 3 years, although it's been longer in the past (and may in fact have been 5 years when that car was new). So you could make the case that it should have a belt service, but I wouldn't say "for sure."

I don't replace my hoses after 4 years as I drive my car. I am not sure how a hose would hold up after 4 years and no use.

I remember seeing an identical car for sale a couple of years ago that was a salvage because of flood damage, it may however be a different car.

I believe it is the same car that was at Specialized Italian Recycling. Here is the link....

    http://www.specializeditalianrecycling.com/ferrari-parts/456.html

On their site it says it was a 99 but I think that was a mistake. After that the car showed up at Specialty Sales in Pleasanton, Ca. where it was in their showroom for about 6 months or more. Later I then saw it for sale on Craigslist. So.... either there are about 4 of these green 456's with tan interior with green piping or this car has a history of short ownership. More than likely the it is the same car because the seller says he has been driving it for the last 2 months and took it in trade for money owed. Anyhow just my 2 cents.

freakin insane! Steve harris has a very nice 456 in right now (blue with tan full records, recent service 1700 miles) and its only about 80k. God I want that car and its so close (physically but nowhere near close financially sadly)
