I am 99% certain that no E30 M3's were built with RHD. This was probably imported privately and converted here. There are quite a few of them in Sydney, certainly more than 3.

I've driven a left hooker in the UK, they are just fantastic.

You're right Ian, there were no RHD factory cars. I imagine them to be every bit as fantastic as you say, and one day i hope to have one of my own

It does for short URL's. but the longer ones with spaces and weird characters it gets confused sometimes.

I had a 2002Tii many years ago, it was a fabulous car with utterly communicative handling and steering, that could be 4 wheel drifted with ease and was just great fun. I "upgraded" to a 320, which was complete crap in comparison. Dead steering and snap oversteer that was unpredictable and dangerous. It was so bad that I took it back to the dealer thinking that something was wrong with the rear suspension. "Oh, they all do that", said the service guy. They sold zillions of them of course.

The E30 M3 was the first BMW that recaptured the magic of the 2002tii, but with more power and more grip. They are highly sought after in the UK. I suspect an original LHD car would be worth more than a converted RHD.

a 2002ti/tii is the only BMW i've ever dreamt about owning. of course, i was young and impressionable at the time.

so this M3 in that ad...that's meant to be a good car?? geez...you wouldn't know it by looking. wolf in sheep's clothing, hey?

I have an E30 318, fairly slow but i've experienced the snap oversteer you're talking about. I've changed the suspension, and thats improved things alot. I have been attempting a budget resto for a bit of fun, and i think they're the best looking bmws ever along with the e46 m3.

Of course an original LHD would be worth more than a conversion, but i want to drive my car above all else, and that would be considerably easier with a rhd car. Originality doesn't bother me too much with these cars, theres thousands of them so its not as if its historically important, just a bit of fun for me

    Gee, car talk!

I had the great pleasure of driving Cameron Mcleans E30 M3 Sports sedan around Lakeside many years ago. (basically the Super tourer without any weight restictions).

The only time I dove there and cracked a minute. :D

Yes, the E30 shape hasn't aged well. Whereas the 2002 shape I think still looks great. Challenge is finding one that hasn't rusted to bits.

In silver with Alpina wheels, a 2002 is a neat thing.

2002s look fantastic...but im going against the IanB grain and registering the opinion that the E30 M3 looks awesome to this day!

Agreed, there are a couple of RHD E30 M3's in Tassie (may be replicas??) but they look great with the pumped guards.
