    McCabe?

He's become a "tax write-off" for the Maple Leaf organization.... the best position for him on the team! LOL

Lets see if this new kid Mark Bell is any good....I doubt it though.

I'm watching the MAKE ME LAUGHS just because I want a good laugh tonight. 4-0 half way through the second period so far. Not bad...it's gonna be worse.

I was reading recently that MLSE who owns the channel LEAFS-TV want all restaurant and bar owers to pay $1200.00 a year to be able to broadcast all Toronto Leafs games on their TV's.

Before this year, they were paying only $19.99 a month to subscribe and play the channel.

So basically what they're saying is that they want the restaurant owners to pay $1200.00 a year to scare away customers by showing the games?

    LOLL

They gotta get rid of Peddie.....then I may beleive that something positive may happen. Cliff Fletcher is gonna be even worse. Whatever happened to that rumour about a Russian wanting to buy the team? My hopes were actually jittered when I heard that.....but it seemed to have fizzled away again.

    Agreed 100%

Wont happen, the teachers pension fund is way to smart to let the leafs go. The minute i heard i was laughing, no way that willbe sold off. The whole organization is a license to print money.

it doesnt seem like he'll be able to afford the team. I believe they valued MLSE at about $1.8 bil. that also happens to be the Russian's net worth, so he would have to have another source of investment if he wanted to buy the team. Also, the owners arent interested in selling MLSE so i doubt anything happens...there's always hope though :)...on a side note its too bad the leafs handled JFJ the way they did, he's a class act and still got treated like crap.

JFJ seems like a nice guy, I never had anything bad to say about him personally. However he didn't deliver the 'goods' to the Leafs during his time as GM, and it was time for a change...so out he goes.

Why bring Cliff Fletcher back?? He's a 71 year old snowbird who lives in Phoenix Arizona, and hasn't done much for the Coyotes either.

Maybe they should give Gord Stellick a 2nd chance?

Regarding the possible sale.....it probably will not happen. Just like BigRed said, its a money making operation. The principals of the organization are getting their big paycheques, and shareholders are getting their dividends, so the 'business' is working well.

If my company was making millions$ in profit why would I sell all my machinery, fire my employees and find a new manager ????
Just because my customers are complaining? Who cares...they're still paying me (alot) every day!

The Russian or anyone else doesn't have to buy the whole organization. All he needs is 51% of the shares to rule.

Alex Schnaider......aka the Midland F-1 guy from Toronto.

This guy has been throwing alot of money around the last few years.........but I haven't noticed anything good coming from what he's done.

He can run an F1 team... He can run a hockey team.... He can be Donald Trumps business partner.... Maybe he should be the mayor of Toronto, they need help the most.

Hi, he doesnt need to plop down his net worth to buy the team. It's done through financing and other partners just like other big buys and mergers. Ie: Thompson group is buying Reuters for over 18 Billion and the Thompsons are worth approx $26 billion. Don't think they'll be paying cash 100% either.

And like Forza said, he just needs 51%.

I am so glad they finally fired that moron!!!!! I couldn't care less how nice he is, he ruined our team. They treated him fairly, they kept and paid him for 3 more years than they should have, I agree 110% with you Joe, Peddie should be next on the chopping block, look at the Raptors once they got rid of that useless tit, Cliff Fletcher is only here to hold the fire sale and maybe if were lucky swindle a few good players, best case scenario is Peddie in the unemployment line and Scotty Bowman with FULL control of the team.

I know that will never happen cause it's not like we want to win a cup or something.

As long as Peddie is Pres/CEO, it doesn't matter who is GM. Peddie has no clue, and insists on having all decisions go through him. I predict we will see 3-4 more years of misery until Peddie is eventually fired, and then maybe, MAYBE, something will happen. Peddie is the weak link in this chain, and Fletcher, or anybody else will have no chance. I had to laugh at some of the callers into the FAN 590 today, thinking that this will be a great move for Toronto. What a joke. Even if we had Scotty Bowman in the job, as long as Peddie is in the drivers' seat, we don't have a chance.

By the way, did anyone notice how Fletcher said in his press conference today that they GM they are looking for will be a 10-year person (minimum)? I think that was a statement made to wipe Scotty Bowman off the radar (knowing that Scotty probably only has another 5 years max in his career). Peddie has no interest in bringing Bowman here, because he wants to retain control and preserve his pitiful existence. It seems that Fletcher is already programmed by Peddie, and it's only his first day on the job! This team is f*@ked royally.

that was just a shalacking...i was listening to the habs game when the announcers said the leafs were getting embarrassed 8-0 lol...then both said that if theres no change by the end of this season (even right now) then forget them to ever be contenders for the playoffs, forget the cup, but the playoffs..

they play each other (mtl vs tor) tomorrow...hopefully if montreal can win and ottawa loses to the panthers, the habs are sitting pretty, 1st in the east!!
