Hi Joe, I know it's s/n 5078. The plates are not from Zeebrugge, that's a city in Belgium, not Holland. Dutch plates do not belong to any city, for that matter. The Dutch plates "Z-12-25" are actually im-export plates, and yes, it could be for tax reasons. It also could be that he had a Persian (D)rug store in Amsterdan as well ;-) The car is indeed never seen in Nederland, but I do think it is fantastic to see this historical picture with the NL sticker! We are not that spoiled with SV's here like Raymond in Switzerland. Lamborghini's are very rare here...I can only think of 6 SV's with somehow Dutch history. Can you confirm that the car is completed restoration now and has been sold to Germany in september 2004 ? I have never seen it anywhere yet! Ciao! This Miura S s/n 4365 was part of a collection in Holland. The guy is actually a Ferrari collector, but he owned 4 Lamborghini's as well: A 400 GT 2+2, Miura S, Islero S and LP400 (Yes Joe, that is #1120030) The owner decided to concentrate on Ferrari ( 166, 195, 250LM, 500 Superfast etc. :the real cool stuff) and he unfortunatly sold all the Lambo's...bummer! Marcello, Well at least I got the plate number correct! I spoke to him about 8/9 years ago when he was trying to sell it to me and I could have sworn Zeebrugge came up in the conversation... Anyway, yes its completed and sold to Germany but the restoration wasnt particularly authentic with lots of mods and many important items such as the fabulous and historic winglets deleted!! At least they kept it silver, one of just 10 SVs in silver: "Argento" (2-443-224) 7 cars, and "Argento Indianapolis" (2-443-009) 3 cars. My view about restorations is simple: if youre going to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars restoring an important car, for heaven's sakes do yourself and future generations a favor and get it right. You think? Joe www.joesackey.com
Thanks for sharing all these images Marcello. We REALLY appreciate it. I think that collector gave up "the cool stuff" - the Lamborghinis! Joe www.joesackey.com
This is the result of 5078's 1986 fire that occured in Paris. Aluminum panels melt in extreme heat... oh-so-cool Wallace winglets still in place. Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would not have ordered it myself, but I most admit that I really like the combination of silver with golden wheels & sills. The Wallace winglets have to be in place again, I agree. (and historical NL sticker as well, I wil provide one for free) What's the difference between Argento and Argento Indianapolis? light and darker? metallic? Ciao! Marcello
Hi all, This Miura was siezed by the Dutch goverment, and offered at an auction in 2001. The car was in need of complete restoration, in my point of view. The car is rumored to have been sold to RM auctions in the USA, but I have never heard from it since... Anybody?? Where is it now? Ciao! Marcello Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ciao Marcello, RM is a Canadian company and not US (Although they have a US office). Perhaps you can contact them directly www.rmautions.com 1.519.352.4575 Do you have the S/N?
Retromobile, Paris.......today! Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
with all due respect i disagree the car belongs to the owner - if he chooses to change things its his perogative. now if the market then chooses to give the car a lower value due to said changes then thats the perogative of the prospective buyers. however lets remember that unless drastic none of these changes are irreversible i for one think whilst the winglets (for example) are interesting i also think they spoil the flowing shape of the beautiful front end. colour, is in my eyes (no pun intended) not a major issue either. if i work my way up and eventually become able to afford a miura, who is anyone else to say i cant have it painted in a colour of my choice ? its not like we are talking about a mass produced car that i can go off and find an example already in the livery of my desire. If i get the chance to get a miura and its a good example mechanically i'll jump at it, even if pink with blue spots was its original (and current) colour scheme. If i waited who is to say the right combo for me will ever come alone - lifes too short. out of interest what else was changed on 5078 ?
Chaos, Your disagreement is respectfully noted BUT, my view is... my view. No one can mandate what is "right" for any individual. But we can all state our views. Joe www.joesackey.com
Max Bobnar bought a lot of the Ferdosian collection, he sold 5110 together with a silver SV to sweden together with the Lp5000s biturbo. Perhaps it was 5078.
Yes, delivered, that yellow car is for sale at Elite garage Zuzwil and came from Germany, perhaps I'll find the time to visit this car.
Actually to a swedish collector, but it might be that the cars never saw sweden since a friend of mine bought the black biturbo in Danmark, the owner said the car was never in sweden. We should ask Simon Kidston where he bought his 5110, since the three cars remained together some time.
Grazie GIOTTO ! Most pictures were taken in Holland, a few at Spa and a few at the Nürburgring. I've been at most of these events as well, but it's always nice to see other people's pictures as well. Ciao! Marcello
Hi Walter, Did you get any of the chassisnumbers from these Miura's? Or the names of the dealers? The SVJ is known. The red SV needs some black paint around the headlights. Ciao! Marcello
