The Harmony Motorsport seat discussion reminded me my long term project, changing the front seats of my 456 GT to something a bit more supportive. I feel that nowadays even the normal sport seats of a BMW seats are a lot more supportive than the original ones of my 456 GT.... OK, GT means its for touring but anyway. I would prefer original Ferrari and I noticed there would be 430 seats decently available. Anyone know how much work it would be to make them fit? or how it would be with the seats from other sportier models... any easier?? Thanks,
Would the 430 seats have a release to tilt the seat forward? You'd have a hard time accessing the rear seat without it.
Add to this the integrated seat belt mechanism on the stock seats which are not on the 430 seats. Alberto
+1. You might have to relocate anchor points for a completely custom seat belts upfront. A friend once modded his R129 SL500 Benz with Sparco seats and he had to custom make the belts since the original seats act as the belt's carrier. He used Sabelt harnesses anchored to the rear bulkhead. But we are in MY with non too strict laws. In Germany, not sure of your TUV rules & regulations/requirements... Then again I did see a pic of a European 456 with Race seats....so it could be done, in EU at least.
Whops, some good points there!! I didn't think of the seat belts... stupid me. so glad I posted before getting the seats... Thank you all, I think I will forget that project... at least for now. If you see nice solutions for this, please let me know
