1964 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso for sales by me...

I live around the corner from this store and drop in every so often and this little gem just came in. Looks like it just came out of the factory. I did some research and since there aren't any snowtires that fit, I decided to pass on it. I'm keeping my M3.

 

That actually doesn't seem like a bad deal. (Not that I can afford it!)

 

Why is the stance of the car so nose down?

What a shame, only a little more than 1,000 miles put on it since it was advertised for sale six years ago in January 2002.

Price is high by 30%. It will sit for years.

 

Asking prices in the $600s seem common now, I have no idea about actual sales.

 

The seller appeared to be an individual on Long Island with a 516 area code phone number. Probably advertised in the Ferrari Market Letter, although I didn't record that on my Lusso spreadsheet. Asking price was <gulp> $165k and the car was described as "78,000 kilometers, trophy winner, impeccable, needs nothing".

PS It didn't have snow tires on it then, either.

 

If someone wants to umm... indefinitely loan me the purchase price, I will happily rack up some miles on it. Cars were ment to be driven!!

 

Somebody here in Europe turned down an offer of €600K which makes $870K, the is car very very nice, one of the better ones around. So it looks that the market here in Europe is very strong on Lusso's.

 

With the weak dollar, I wouldn't be surprised to see a migration of cars from the U.S. to Euroland, just for that reason. That $695K Lusso in New Jersey is "only" 479K Euros at current exchange rates.

They must have been mad!

 

When I turned down an offer of 500k euro (for one of my cars) .....than 650 than 725 and than 875!!! And all in 1-2 years...Who is mad???

Nice car, the red one. But, when you see one like this it’s hard not to get excited. I have never seen a Lusso in a more beautiful color than this.

John, could you post me some pictures of your interior, I noticed that your interior was still original.
What kind of seatbelts do you have.

Hi Tony, this is the interior before it was dismantled. The car was never fitted with seatbelts.

What a great color interior, looks that the carpet are not the original ones anymore( no plastic around the front tunnel or am I wrong). This is not to say anything wrong but I am looking for all the interiors of Lusso's because I brought my Lusso to the trimmer today. And really, it is study these lusso's they are not standard these models.

Thanks. The carpet is original. The clear plastic was removed. The evidence of it was there when I removed the little aluminum scuff guard that is next to the throttle pedal.

 

Now you tell me, looking good at it where it used to end, you see a kind of wrinkle on your picture.

Hey! I have that silver colored curled knob crank shown in your photo above on my 1964 330GT, what is that for? I only see it when I am crawling under the dash so I forget to figure out what it is and when I have asked Kerry Chesboro he hasn't a clue, (could be a poor description on my part). Thanks. Yale

 

By turning that knob you raise and lower the radiator blind. Suppose if you drove your Ferrari in Alpine winters...

 

That's what i thought but I didn't think the 330's had radiator blinds....never saw any other parts that would have remained from this in my engine compartment either. Best, Yale
