It's pretty simple: either he's a total moron, or he's using this b/s to get money, women, you name it.... I suspect that even as old as I am, I'm probably faster in my cart than he would be, and even at my best, I wasn't F1 capable (nor MotoGP). Some people don't have a clue about reality. Art
I have been dominating F1 Championship Edition since it came out last year. I have been considering making the jump to Europe and racing open wheelers myself....any one have money they want to donate to the cause??? Seriously Casey, you had to know you would get a response like this. You're talking about making a jump from local amature racing events to F1. F1, the same F1 that employs a worldwide total of what, 30 drivers....maybe 35. 35 or so out of the millions of people would love to be in F1. Not only are the odds drastically against you just in sheer numbers, you have not won anything that would make anyone even consider you. Tweny-six is far too late to start racing in the a junior series in Europe. Mark
...yes!!!...and he learned he can create another username just to justify his BS!!!... I´ve had a nice morning reading all this nonsense...and I can see is just warming up.
I was going to add that the problem is NOT that this post appears in a forum of rich arrogant Ferraristi, but that it appears in a subforum of people who've actually raced and have spent time with young prospects and seen what life's like for kids chasing the racing driver dream ... and who know the world is full of bright, personable, and very talented racing instructors, prep shop owners, etc etc who gave up on the dream because they ran out of money and, really, no one cares ... heck, I was doing Skippy when Ryan Hunter Reay and Michael Valiante zipped on through, they seemed to have talent and $$ but have found careers in open wheel racing problematic ... but then Peter posted this ... spot on .... PS - it's a Cav GT40 "Casey, this is a tough crowd. You may not have known that going in, but you sure do now! You want our thoughts? Well, you're getting them! Seriously, if you can't distinguish yourself in quiet, under-the-radar venues like VSCDA Mid-Ohio and the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, it's going to be really hard to have the sort of credibility you need to attract "funding." "Funding" for what? for a fancier website? Anther pithy narrated film for your art class? You're choosing to play in a a sandbox that is populated by wealthy, older amateurs. If you were serious, you'd be doing the EuroSeries or even start in the National Class in BF3 (for older cars and private entrants) like you say you want to on your site, not driving cranky old cars around mid-pack in a group of people with completely different goals than yourself. Me? I'm honored to be out there sparring with the "big fish" in our "small pond." It's enough for me to go three-abreast with two other SCCA National Champions into the Keyhole at Mid-Ohio ahead of fifty-plus other cars or have someone I respect like Brian Redman or David Hobbs give me a pat on the back after a hard race. Every time I've seen you in the paddock (and it's only been twice in twenty-five years of vintage and historic racing), you have this "race face" on or are pandering to the various photogs and press people around. Your performance is sub-par and your car never runs correctly or very long. It's hard for people to take you seriously if they are uncertain if you take the sport or even yourself seriously. Unfortunately, it appears that you do take your quest seriously. Good luck."
i am NOT another username. I am a true Casey Putsch fan ever since seeing the video of him racing the 308 ferarri. i am also a racing driver of tremdous renoewn.
Now the guy that operates the camera shows up... Im with callaides on this...oh my god, this is warming up...
Not the same guy. Mr Can't Spell registered 2005. A friend I suspect. As for warming up... good for my popcorn futures investment!
Heheheheeee...lets see what DrStranglove has to say about the IP address...although the guy with the camera makes a decent job , and looks like a believer to me...
See, here's our mistake. He didn't want opinions, he just wanted money. Now it's true that you can make money if you suck in a car, but you have to be female. Maybe a good surgeon can help?
Thats one hell of a '94 corvette on his website..."that's good for well beyond 200 mph." Bwahahahahaha, what a joke. By the way Casey, the Grand Sport hash marks on the front fender should only be on one side of the car. Weak effort.
He may not need it. Remember Ralphie??? He just needs a great brother. [In a bubble over my head--- I wonder if the OP gets the reference.]
Maybe we ARE harsh as hell in here but the amount of research or show-off this guy showed us was on par with the other dude that wanted opinions on F430 vs Scuderia and asked why the Scuderia didn't have any carpets. There ARE some dumb questions in life and they must be answered in honest ways. I gave my opionion, you're probably too late. Instead, I would recommend to focus on perfecting the driving skills and go as far up as possible it if really is his dream...
I think you nailed it... He is in it for the women........ (or maybe men, who knows.) He gets to be a "race driver" and "in Formula1" even without actually being anywhere. If I wasn't always squandering my money on frivolities, I could save up enough to A. Go to Formula BMW school. B. Go to F2000 school in MtTremblant Canada. C. Get 100laps of REAL ex F1 cars in Paul Ricard France (ex Arrows, ex Prost, V10s, V8s etc.) D. Buy a fast go kart and because I have Summers pretty much off, do a season of karting. E. Buy a few REAL RACE SEATS here and there. Ferrari Challenge here, Italian Rally Champinship there. F. Buy some sort of track car/open wheel car and go tracking every week-end. All this would still get me no further to F1 then my Mom. B.T.W. there is a reason why Formula BMW driver developement program has an age limit of like 22.
Forget it guys... it's just a not so elaborate internet prank call. It's just too obvious. I bet it was started by one of the Moderators to "spice things up."
Ha! Maybe so. This has actually been more entertaining that your political threads! I noticed in the video that he loses the tail at the 1:00 mark. If not for the concentration driver closeups and poetry it would be a nice video. He did seem to have a hard time getting around the camera car for being an F1 driver "flat out". The horn almost did it though.
