The one I already own: 250 GT SWB California recreation on 365 chassis -- it's everything the original was and more (or less -- it's all aluminum), plus I don't feel guilty driving it around town.

2nd: 275 GTB/4 cut to NART spyder specs (I passed on a beautiful blue & tan one at $400k only to see it for $750,000 two years later - dam.

3rd: the Black & Tan Daytona spyder (cut coupe) that I didn't get a chance to finish restoring.

I thought long and hard about this. I ran through many attractive options, The P4/5 was a first thought, Rare one of a kind, super fast, and beautiful. But...Unfortunately it's a closed car. This also knocked the Enzo, the 288 GTO, F40, 512BB etc.

    Then I though Maybe the F50, That's a very fast open car, but it's not exactly the veluptuous beauty that the Ferrari's of the 50's and Sixties are. That brought me to my favourate Ferrari the 1963 250GT Lusso, But again it's a closed car. while it's my favourite Ferrari, it's not the one that I would want as my only one. But I was getting close. I narrowed down my list of qualifications for my one and only Ferrari;

    1. It must have had a racing carreer. My particular one doesn't need to have been raced by anyone famous, or have won a big race, but so long as it's possible that it could have if timing was right is good enough for me.

    2. It must be powered by a 12 cylinder engine. Year I know there are a lot of great Ferraris with V-8s but for me the sound of a vintage Ferrari V12 is the most intoxicating sound ever. ( I would be willing to go deaf to every other sound if I could still hear that one.)

    3. it must have an open cockpit, either roadster or a barchetta. I want the wind in (what is left of) my hair, and sun beating down on my head.

    4. It must be light. it must have nothing that doesn't make it go fast. I want to be able, as I rev the engine and move up through the gears to hear the valvetrain of the engine, the sound of the transmission gears, and the whine of the rear differential. As I bend it into a turn I want to smell the heat of the brakes, and hear the creaking of it's thin aluminum body. I want a 160 MPH to be a daredevil ride, not just another mark on the speedo on your way up to 200mph.

Taking all of this into account there was only one choice for me. a 1958 250 Testa Rossa, Red. Now if I was allowed two Ferraris...Hmmmm.

    So what is yours? :D

As for myself, it would be a 333SP in black or red.
If it had to be a street car, I'd go with the Enzo

1954 375 MM Pinin Farina Spider. The Horseshoe Ranch car (yellow/green).

For years (30 or so?) I've been telling people that I'd forsake ALL other sportscars if I could have that one in my garage.

My first thought was F2007 or a 333sp but those are not street legal. For the street I would go with a 250gto or an enzo.

    308 GTS Red with Tan.

This is the car that always pops into my mind when someone says they saw a Ferrari. Then I go into the barrage of questions getting more specific.

Also, since I will likely only buy one Ferrari in my lifetime, it is nice to have achievable goals.

Yeah, yeah. You're just jealous that you're stuck driving an ordinary 360.
It's actually an Italian made all aluminum body mated to a 365 GT2+2 shortened chassis with original engine and gearbox.
