Looks like Ferrari is cashing in on the globally astronomical demand for the cars :p Doesn't hurt that they sold 6400 cars either :D

The theme park and officially licensed telescope, computer, segway, binoculars, etc. probably help as well :(

I realize that a lot of you don't like the "new Ferrari," but you have to give Luca credit. Making a 16+% profit on operations is damn good for a manufacturer.

This doesn't bode well for FNA getting any more warm and fuzzy. To paraphrase Lilly Tomlin about the phone company:

"We don't care. We don't have to. We're Ferrari."

If the average WHOLESALE price per car was $200k (a bit more 430's than GTB's), then the total from sales of cars would be about 1.3 billion..

add .1 bill for constructors money...

To make up the other billilon, that's a lot of spare parts, "t" shirts, key fobs, and other junk with the Prancing Horse on it.... Probably "easy" money because it comes from license fees, other than writing a contract, no overhead.....

Net result is that Ferrari makes almost as much money selling the name as they do selling cars....

Nice work if you can get it....

I'm hopeful (or maybe just naive) that the Classiche program is a sign that Ferrari will take a page from the Mercedes book and be more supportive of its older cars.

Like a wise man once said, "Just because it's sunny doesn't mean you should throw away your umbrella."

Or something to that effect :p

Fat chance... They are in it for the money..

They see that the restoration community has been making a fortune restoring these cars, and they have the capability to do it better than anybody else. If they kept the prints for all these old parts, they can make parts for them easier and better than anybody else and with the ability to farm out the work to smaller shops they can make big money on it...
