I use them on both my 348 and 355 spiders. Never had an issue with them flying off at speed! Never stolen either. I like them because when I am in the mood for shields, stick on the car. When not, remove. Easier to clean, wax etc without shields.
Tried them out on my 456M under the mirrors (couldn't go in the usual spot since it's carbon fiber). It didn't look right to my aesthetic sense, so I just sold them on ebay for $50. But they did hold well at speed and not shift. I never tried leaving my car for a long time in a public place just to see if they'd get stolen LOL. It's your car; do what you want.
Just put them on end enjoy them i have them on my 328 and even on the track the dont move, its your car dont become one of the historic fanatics, its a car and it is yours you can take them off any time you like.
Hi, please what's the right position for you and what's the measures to put on for 328 ? Many thanks.
Hope this helps... Shield Placement Reference 308 and 328 Driver's Side Fender Using the crease that runs along the fender as your guide, the upper right hand corner of the shield should be 2 1/8" below the crease straight below 2 3/4" along the crease from the door/fender joint. Reverse all measurements for a passenger side.
While we are at this, would these shields fit on my Infiniti? I am alittle worried because the car's got a bunch of aluminum parts on it that might cause the magnetic shield not to stick.
Would this be the same as the one on this 288 GTO? Plus, does anyone know where or who can do the indentation on the fender for the shield? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Many thanks, but please send a picture. I stay in Italy and don't understand the measures: what's 2 3/4 and 2 1/8 ? SAE to Metric 2 3/4" = 69.8mm 2 1/8" = 53.9mm Someone on here knows the exacts in metric, this is just the direct conversion.
2000YELLOW360- Tell me more about the shields only being on race cars. Was the F40 ever raced? Wouldn't Ferrari only put shield on the LM? What about the 288? It was sold as a street car even though it was designed for Class B, I think. And if you can order the shields from the factory on a new street car, doesn't that negate the race car only rule? What was the first street car Ferrari produced? Did it have shields? Thanks for all your help. I am a neophyte, and appreciate your wisdom and help. Robert C
The whole "no shields" because you're a purist and they are only for "race cars", I hear is a bunch of crap. Where does it end? No V8's because those are "dinos" not Ferraris? People do all sorts of things that were not original to the cars, so what? No horsey mats? No FCA sticker on the window? Wheels? Come on...it comes off as easily as it went on...no harm, no foul. Bottom line is they are optional on the all Ferrari street cars now, and STANDARD EQUIPMENT on some! So get over it...Ferrari obviously has. Whew...I feel better now...
I like the shields, as it pays tribute to ferrari's racing heritage,, but agree that not all cars look good with them. Bottom line is: it's your car, do what you like. My next Ferrari (550 or 575) will have the factory shields so no one can say they don't belong.
please, who has 308 or 328 with shield sent some pictures, so we can see the right position and if it beautiful. Many thanks.
