can someone have both? or do I have to remove/replace my old 3 point when I install a 4 point?

If I were to buy a set, would you provide me with all prts needed? that is grommets, bolts, etc..

See attached pictures for mounting design. I don't think you could have both simultaneously, as I *think* the lower mounting points on the 4-point harness go into the same locations as your 3-point belt + tongue. The upper mounts section attaches most suitably on the parcel shelf. These are not legal for use in the US on a public road or highway. For track use only. Yadda Yadda Yadda.

Lots of people will advise you not to get belts without a roll bar. In the event that the car is rolled over, the roof is crushed, you cannot move due to the belts.

Depends on which risks you are worried about. The advantage is of course you can wear a hans.

 

You may want to note that the US spec CS does not have the racing harness anchor points on the rear shelf.

US cars do NOT have the anchor points in the rear. In order to use the belts in a US car, you will need to have anchor points installed into the rear shelf/support bracket!!

 

Is that hard to accomplish? Is it major surgery?

Yep.

 

That risk is more associated with 5 point (crouch/ submarine) belts.

 

Not necessarily hard but does require evasive surgery.

As per factory, rear shelf fabric, (Alcantara or leather) gets removed in order to weld unobtainable factory anchors, (you'll have to fabricate them) to L/R side of the firewall. Fabric must be cut, (to allow harness pass through) then sewn and then covered with factory eyelets.

 

I'm interested to know what "evasive surgery" is - perhaps the mechanic can only do it behind closed doors? Perhaps the CS is shy and doesn't like being undressed?

 

Fairly simple and typically used in medicine. Google it.
