pitchers and catchers report today, and it's about time. i'm looking forward to this season, let the "experts" pick the cardinals 4th in the central, after we get out of jupiter, we'll prove them wrong, just like we did when we won it all in '06. finally, baseball, not just this congressional hearing or that lawsuit, let's get back to the game, :)

Honestly, the last two years I haven't been able to get into baseball at all. I went from watching or listening to every single Astros game in '04/'05, to not being able to watch anything related to the game.

    Good luck to your 'Cards.

I used to like baseball but then I realized that the pitchers take about 30 seconds between pitches, if they could cut that in half they would attract a lot more fans.

If you don't like baseball, why post in this topic

First game for my Cubs is the 29th. Hopefully I'll be able to go to a Spring Training game this year when I visit my grandpa in Arizona

Never said anything about not liking the game. I miss enjoying the game like I use to, and have no dislike of it. I'm a sports fan in general and will go to a few games this season.

And I will be contributing, undoubtedly, to baseball threads during the season. And I was wishing the best to Rolls' Cardinals this season.

There's no need for your questioning of me and ferraridudes posting here.

thanks! it's a great time of the year, pitchers and catchers are down there, in florida, by the ocean, where it's 77 degrees in jupiter right now, and i'm here in st louis, where it's 27 degrees, close to the muddy, icy mississippi, but i'm still loving every minute of it!

    LOL.

So your trying to live vicariously through what you see on tv? You look outside and picture blue skies and a warmer temp....:D

I know Biggio was intereviewed about his part-time job with the Astros for the next few years. He said he's glad he's not down there sweating. I thought it was pretty funny.

What's new with the Cards this year? Who are looking forward to seeing?

I remember reading somewhere that during a typical baseball game, with an average length of ~2 1/2 hours, there is ~9 1/2 minutes of (moving ball) action...

Exactly, there's not much action at all. Little League is a bit more exciting because the kids don't spend as much time between pitches and because there are more hits.

thanks, :) how does 100 years of frustration feel? :D

juan gonzales is the main guy i'm interested in seeing, also i want to see what kind of adam kennedy we'll get this year, how chris carpenter's arm is doing, and how colby rasmus will do, if he'll do well enough at the camp to earn a spot on the roster, or have to wait until some point during the season to be called up. amongst some other things as well...

Indeed we are!!! I can't wait for September, 2 Cubs/Cards series that will definitely mean something, it doesn't get any better than the Cubs/Cards rivalry

we made the first big cut yesterday, although due to outside influences other than his performance as a utility man on the field. scott spiezio was dismissed after the warrant for his arrest was issued. it's definitely made the team look a little more interesting. this year, as opposed to others where there were players with major league contracts for virtually every position, we will see others making the team that normally wouldn't have the chance. i think coby rasmus, if he can show he's a viable lead off man, will more than likely make the cut.
