What is your favorite sounding 100% stock Ferrari ? A: Road going and B: Track car A: Challenge Stradale B: FXX I saw a video of the F50 GT and it´s sounds amazing ! Never heard it irl though.
I'll tune in a rerun of "Gumball" just to hear that Daytona in the NYC echo canyons in the AM. Sweeet! (And for "What's-a behind me is not important" )
any stock C/4 anyone watch Miami Vice back in the day? It wasn't a Daytona engine that they dubbed in... It was this one
a. 1970 365 GTC/4 or 365GTB/4 b. 1970 312B If the sound of these cars do not move your soul, it's time you drove a Buick.
Those who answer please indicate which stock Ferraris they have heard in person. I have only heard my stock 360 and stock CS extensively so I am not really qualified to offer an opinion.
If someone post 355 enough, one day it will become an internet truth CS or 365 4 cam Most any modern F1 car or maybe the F50GT... I've heard the F50GT ... impressive G
++ on the 355, but it does kind of cause some little goosebumps when it is sitting there idling. Of the ones I have heard up close and personal, I would have to go with a couple of oddities as honorable mention - 246 Dino - easily the best sound from a V6 I have ever experienced. Old (1958 vintage) 250GT - the real thing; don't miss sitting in one of these with it running if you ever have the chance. For the serious vote - probably the Daytona. Notice that I am only putting forth street cars I have actually ridden/driven in or heard standing beside it. And, as tastes may vary, also note that I am not too much a fan of loud street exhausts or the flat plane V8 buzz.
Hearing a 355 coming down the street from 5 blocks away and then wizzing right past me at about 8k rpm is the sole reason I became a Ferrari fan in the first place.
Gentlemen, Those voting for new cars, have you ever heard a vintage Ferrari V-12 at full scream? If you haven't, please take the opportunity to do so, it may change your opinion on the this topic. First choice for me in the the stock, road going V-12s is 365 GTC/4 (sounds better than a Daytona). No modern car (with emissions equipment) or V-6, V-8 can compete (even though they do sound great!). For racing, nothing beats a 312p (there is an in car recording of 0870 or 0872 taking a lap around the Le Mans circuit - it makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck hearing it on the computer - if someone can find it and post a link, it would be worth listening to). Regards, Art S.
OK, I have a serious question - I think I see that about as many (or more) people who want the late vintage V12 sound say 365GTC/4 as are saying the Daytona - would anybody care to comment on this? I thought that they were essentially the same engine -
