997 Turbo is faster , better , more reliable and great warranty. 360 is older model with a nice looks but power wise is not as good as the porsche and the service costs are way higher.

Porsche you just change oil every 25,000 miles.

    Good luck

997 is AWD and good for all seasons. So many porches around these days you will get little attention. Drive the ferrari any you will get kids jumping out at you with camera phones all the time. Engine sounds a lot better than a 997 too.

Bottom line, 997 is practabilty a great drive with all the gadgets, 360 is flashy with great looks, great sounds and says look at me kiss my ass you pauper.

Quite an in depth perspective on one of Ferrari's most beautiful and successful contemporary models.

Come on, buying a ferrari is a shallow thing to do. You cannot drive it in the rain, park it anywhere, you get a loud exhaust for more attention, it costs enough for an african village to eat for a lifetime. If you buy a ferrari you are a shallow human being ;)

Well m5 is another beast. If you want 4 doors and a boring bmw then take the m5. Boring although I might add the "M" does earn some respect.

Also BMW's have a lot more kit than a ferrari. Inside a ferrari is really basic. Just a steering wheel and some gears with a few buttons. More about the driving than comfort.

I think 360 has nothing to do with luxury, comfortable, all seasons car. If you are looking for such car, buy M5 or 911. But there is so many other things for which is 360 amazing and unique sport car like no other......

You have to define your needs and go from there. Do you need a 4 door car?? Then get the M5! Can you manage with just a 2 seater, then get the 360! I have had both now and the E60 M5 has all the comforts of home with a V-10 smoking engine!!! The 360 is raw and unfiltered power ready to play at any second.
It is a fact that the 360 is a attention getter which can present its own set of problems. Only on occassion would some middle age guy come up and say, "cool the new M5!", very stealthy!!!!

    Get the 360!

Well I went from a 97 TTS to a CS and couldn't be happier. I loved the Porsche but the CS just has more wow factor....

If you want you & your car to turn heads... go Ferrari or Lamborghini.. if you want a car that turns some heads, that you can drive everyday..park pretty much anywhere.. have really no service issues.. go Porsche.. I love my 996TT In fact Im selling my Galllardo because it draws TOO much attention.. My 996 TT turns heads, BUT no way as much as my Lambo.. I was going to buy a 360 spider.. but for now.. Im going to keep my 996TT do some exhaust to it, maybe upgrade the turbo's and have the ECU reflashed... Might not turn as many heads as the Ferrari and Lambo.. BUT it will also leave them in my rear view mirror.

Expanding your search I see. If you want to "do burnouts" I don't think the 996TT/997TT and the 360 are your car. My guess is that you will fry the clutch on the 360 with great speed. The M5 is certainly your best bet for all around practicality. But I would not ever singely own a 360. I have 2 other cars at my disposal and I think you should have at least one other if you go 360.

Are you still looking for a 360?

Why are you selling your Gallardo?

As asked before I would love to see pics of your 997 and your Gallrdo

If you're thinking of a 911 Turbo or 360, you also might want to consider a Gallardo. There are lots of them within the 360/911 Turbo price range. There's also the Vantage if you want people to notice you!

    Best,
    Erik G.

I have a 997TT and an M5 and have been trolling here lately as I am toying with getting an F430 coupe. I have only test driven the F430, so my experience is very limited.

My modded 997 Turbo (Stage IV-- about 610HP on pump) feels a lot faster in a straight line, and the AWD will probably help me get around the track faster (maybe a great driver doing 10/10 could lap the F430 faster, but that would not be me).

I imagine the 360 is a step behind the 430 in both handling and power-- putting it well behind the Turbo.

The M5 feels nearly as fast as the F430, and I'll bet it would smoke a 360 from a roll.

As others have noted, however, there is something magical about the Ferrari look/sound/feel/legend. I think everyone should own one at some point.

But for me, I can't imagine owning the F-car WITHOUT also owning another fun/fast car. So if you are doing an either/or analysis, I think the Turbo will serve you better. Just so much more of an all-arounder.

    -Chris

Beautiful cars! Too bad they aren't particularly fun/inspiring to drive.

You may be right about certain villages in West and a few in East Africa, but I am curious regarding your statement that only "shallow" (minded) people buy Ferrari's? I presume you do not own a Ferrari which begs the question, what is your motivation and interests here. Best

Yes I am selling my 2005 Gallardo 6 speed... love the car, but dont get to drive it much... and it draws alot of attention... I am not one to wave to the camera phone, and talk about my car at every light... so its time to sell her... I will miss her, never had any problems with it, its fast, sounds sick... and like I said if you want to turn heads... a pearl yellow gallardo is the way to do it!

Wanting to do "burnouts" suggests you may have hit the wrong (forum) button. Best
