Just saw this ad on craigslist San Francisco bay area: 1994 FERRARI 348 CHALLENGE.. ONLY 15K MILES...SEE PICS. - $49450 VIN # ZFFRG35A0R0098452
I looked into this car. It looks like some bad nightmare from the "Fast and Furious" movies. The interior has been "customized". The original seats, and wheels are no longer available. I would be interested to see if someone could find some history on the car.
Car has been on the market for well over six months... It was already discussed on F-chat I think. Anyway non original paint super ugly pin striping on C pillar, along with Honda civic riced out interior, rear light/grill alterations, and very poorly done electrical ground in engine compartment make this car very questionable.... Would never consider paying over 40,000 and thats if it really only has 15,000 miles and all mechanics are in order. I would not be surprised if this car has collision history. Would be a good buy to restore back to a presentable condition, the dealer would definitely take much less for the car since it has been on the market for such a long time. Get a PPI either by Patrick Ottis in Berkeley(I would go to him!) or by Ferrari of North America in Marin County. Good luck there might be quite a nice 348Gtb hidden under all of that! No the interior in my 348 is but the lowly stock interior made at the factory, from the cheap crappy leather they use in Italy. I am but a simple man and unable to obtain the Sparco "inspired" interior of this 348. If I could only have vibrant yellow seats made with such great care from the highest quality materials available, and such fancy JDM "racing harnesses", well that would be the day the gods truly shine down upon me. Unfortunately my luck has been down lately and the great day when I will be blessed with such a high performance interior looks far away. Until then, the plain old Ferrari leather will have to suffice. What a shame that a man should be forced to settle for an interior as poor as that from the Ferrari factory.
How unfortunate of you. The Sparco seats would be too much for such a "mere stock" car such as yours!
