Just got an invite to be listed in who's who. Is this legit or is it some outfit try to scam money from me? The reason I ask is that several years ago I had been "honored" by an invitation to some republican business group and that I should be proud to have been selected. When I asked for details they told me once I joined I would go to an induction dinner at the Capitol with memebers of Congress etc etc. All I had to do was fill out the form and submit $10,000!

'Who's Who' was a book that has been around for years. If what you received is the same, it's legit.

"Who's Who" has been around for years, but that doesn't make it legit. What possible benefit will you reap other than being able to say you're in "Who's Who"?

Quick: Who here is in there, and what did you pay for the "honor?"

The fact that 1) you're not regularly invited to meet "members of Congress" and 2) have to pay to be in Who's Who tells me it's a scam. I get these in the mail once per year. That's what the shredder is for.

Come on, if you're important enough, you'll get invited to these things anyway and you won't have to pay to be mentioned in a publication. I wonder if Bill Gates got his check in on time. He'd better hurry his ass up. LOL.

The 10K was for the Republican Business man club some sort of PAC. I did some research about who's who and found out it's free to be listed but costs $1000 to be a lifetime member for which you get a plaque and a hardbound copy of the book. I took a second look at the letter and found that they spelled my name Victro not Victor. I use that sometimes when you have to register on some web sites to get info on stuff and I want to make sure F/U emails are legit or spam. Didn't notice it at first. This is a total scam.

    Yes it is a scam.

The general rule in these things is this:

If you have to pay them or ask them, you are not important enough. If you really were, they would be begging you to be in the book.

For $10,000 I'll put you on a list AND name a star after you! If you act now, I'll even throw in a leather-bound book dedicated to you and a coffee mug that says "Victro."

Is Corinthian or Conaly leather. For that price does it include Daytona inserts. What about contrasting stitiching or piping? How often does the book have to go back to the dealer for a "cover off" service? Are service intervals based on time the book is a shelf queen or does it depend on how often its read?
