Budd XR-400 Convertible Fetid, but grotesquely malproportioned. It was remembered thru lunchtime. PS, I think all the lamps were to blind you so you wouldn't barf. Funnily, I thought rear looked vaguely like a Rambler American with Euro Ford bumpers, and front was Ford. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Applause meter in the red. Very well done. It is all over the place, design wise. If Budd had made it look at least somewhat appealing, who knows, maybe Ford would have bit. I'm not surprised even the Kenoshans showed them the door. The floor is yours.
First of a slew. Jeff, where are you? Isobel, that was an obscure effort, well done. Budd did some Lincolns too, more for materials than design. Although corrugated alloy may have helped that effort. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ray and Virgil had good drugs in the old days. Nice choice. Pichon et Parat's finest. Better resolved than this. Doorhandles worse. Damn things look like refugees from an Imperial Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would never have gotten that one. I was thinking Alder, Fidia, Avanti 4 door, even an Arnolt Bristol concept. ..... Congrats Sfumato......
Volvo C303 You have to guess previously posted pic/pics correctly before posting. Here are the open mystery cars, I can hold the second one until my turn again. Not a Desoto nor Ferrari. Second car to be posted later (#1338) is not a Talbot or Chrysler, Andrew. Your dad get the 599 yet? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had to start digging. Never would have thought it was a Corvette Ghia Aigle. Now, on to the other...?????
Molto bene. A '58, actually. Nice work. Prettier than the Wilke 410. Colors very 50's, but could be timeless in more subdued hues. Your serve, but part b is a fun one. Sorry about nailing the Volvo so fast. Real SUV's as much fun as fast cars. Pinzgauer, C303, GAZ all faves. Another look at pic: Image Unavailable, Please Login
It has Ghia written all over it but what model? I'd swear it was a Renault if the engine was en arrierre. Alfa-ish except the wheels seem to full for the wells. Goliath/Hansa/Wartburg Ghia concept ? Hints ?? I'll use the 'too grainy to see' excuse if I'm wrong.
Ghia yes. Mid 50's obviously. Usual bodies not bad, so coachbuilt surprising (hence use). Front engine yes. Central european, non-showcar.
That was tough. I had to dig through the the net to catch this one. A Singer 1500 Ghia Aigle. The taillight on the car beside it would have been easier to guess..... . Singer was the Oldsmobile division of Rootes iirc, priced in between the Hillmans and Humbers. They had a strong association with HRG sports cars but I've never known why. Engine supplier perhaps? Maybe something else...
Nice work, again. The Stude next door helped throw off year and origins . Odd the car had that body, Singers weren't bad looking. It's only money I guess. Your round. We seem to be the only players now. Hope Jeff is OK.
