Hi Hank, not meaning to be negative, or maybe its that I’m sick and not thinking clearly today ... Why would I use this instead of just putting the roof up?

Hi James, it's a good question - not negative at all :) In the case of the Mondy Cabs, 348 and 355 Spiders, the convertible top stays down and the tonneau can remain in place. This is of importance as the tonneau itself takes about ten times as long to unsnap and stow as the total time it takes to deploy the Spider Top - - and we haven't even put the top up yet:) It's all about ease of use and saving time. You can cover your open and drive ready interior in mere seconds and then remove it in even less time.

As for the 360/430 top, I know a number of folks who hate to run the mechanics (fearing a break down) of the top every time they leave their car for lunch or whatever and so, they just leave it with the top down and let old Mr. Sol do its damage. Again, in mere seconds, the windscreen, dash, all the leather and carpets are protected by the Spider Top.

Who am I to say what one should be concerned with but, if you do want to take advantage of any opportunity to "guard" your interior, Spider Top does the job in fine and IMHO, attractive and inexpensive fashion. I hope I answered your question.

    Cheers, Hank

Understand the logic Hank, but it's a little like taking your supermodel wife out with a bag over her head (no obvious comments pleeese ;-)

That's exactly my point :) You don't drive with Spider Top in place and you don't put a bag on her head while she's sitting next to you. But if you leave her sitting in the car by herself while you go for a pint or a bite, the bag will prevent alot of prying eyes and hands :) The bag and Spider Top do their job while you're not around :)

Just kidding about the bag - but you see what I mean about the protection aspect.

    Cheers, Hank

This arrived in the mail yesterday. :):)

Straight out of Ricambi America. :D:D

I love this Berlinette Shade. It took around 30 secs to fit for these pics. 3 suction cups and the wipers hold it down outside the front windscreen. I backed the car out of the garage to check out the fit and to take these pics. :):)
You probably cant tell from the pics, but there was a strong wind blowing when I was taking the pics. The shade stayed on nice and firm. Passed the wind test within the first minute of being fitted. :p:p

This will be perfect for our killer Aussie sun!! I have the shade in the glovebox from now on. Cheers Daniel and two thumbs up to Hank for coming up with these!! Very cool!! A very happy customer down under (I always am when I deal with Ricambi ;);))
