*than tea is... Come on guys you sound like Brits...

I think you'll have to speak to an owner to get pictures of the process. You're English is fine, by the way.

And the photos...well, I do not know who is who here....it will be good if someone ask a F50 owner to take the pics...

I've heard that the process it's a little complicated....

From what I have heard, the dealership has to take it on and off.

Yeah it's supposed to be a fairly lengthy process requiring tools and such. Not a targa top by any means.

It requires tools and 2 people to lift the roof off. Bolts on all 4 corners need to be undone, the rears in the engine compartment- then you lift it off. You then install the roll hoops and carbon fibre roll hoop cover. The hard top is stored in it's box, as are the roll hoops and cover when not in use. There is also a temporary canvas roof system that stores behind the seats on a shelf and is held in place by straps when not in use. This is only marginally easier to fit than the hard top itself.

Hopefully that makes some sense when looking at the pictures.

    LOL...!

As for the F50 top, I've heard that it weighs 50 pounds, and takes two people a half hour to remove it. I'd love confirmation of that.

I have never weighed it; but it isn't that heavy. I can easily pick it up and carry it around by myself, though fitting it to the car would be too awkward due to it's size and the desire not to damage the paintwork.
I would say it weighs maybe 15kgs? The car isn't at home at he moment so I can't check.

It does take ages to fit and get the shut lines perfect too. There is a heap of spacers and sundry bolts in little leather bags that have to be "just right" for all the shut lines to be perfect. If they are off, the rear hatch can touch the roof/hoop cover and damage the paint.

Said one public school boy to another. :)

360C, thanks for the information. When I have an F50, I have no intentions of ever putting the top on. :)

I have wondered if you can order the Ferrari F50 hardtop to put on the car. And swap them to the soft top whenever you like.
