I’m looking for some input on 348 SS wheel/tire options. Ideally, I’d like to take the original wheels and mount track tires on them and buy a new more aggressive looking set for the street. I know the 348 SS had the wider rear track so are there any later model Ferrari wheels (355 or 360) that will fit without the use of spacers allowing my street/track wheels to be instantly interchangeable?

you should do a search with "348 wheels" there is tons of info and options. I went for 355 wheels, I think they look great!

I did do a search but there seems to be a lot of conflicting information. Some say 355 wheels are a strait swap, some say you need different spacers and/or threads, and I think I saw one where machining the wheels was suggested. I guess I'm trying to clear my confusion so I can be sure I'm going for a wheel that is simply a straight swap with the factory original wheels.

I think we've been able to confirm that the SS does not actually have a wider rear track. Instead, on the SS (and Spiders), the rear wheels have a reduced offset (43 vs 68), pushing the wheels/tires 25mm outboard on each side. You get the same effect with older 348 wheels by using 25mm spacers.

I have 355 wheels on my 348. It's a straight swap, however IMHO the wheels stick in too far under the wheel wells. Like many people I have gone with 25mm spacers on the rear from Hill. I'm told it helps with handling. I also decided to go with 10mm spacers on the front, again to give it a less enemic look.

PS Mine is a 91tb, not sure what the effect on an SS would be.

I believe the 355 wheels, 360 Modular wheels, 348/355 Challenge wheels would all fit in nicely on the 348 without a spacer. The regular 360 wheel might require some machining in the rear to fit without sticking out too much.

Forgive my ignorance but which ones are the 360 modular wheels? Can any post a pick? Do any of the other 18” 360 wheels fit the late model 348?

BBS LM's have to be the best looking rims for the 348, they are what I have and I feel the styling matches as if they were made for the car. The 355 wheels don't look bad either. I need to take some better pictures of my 348, VTC also has these wheels on his 348 take a look at his to get an idea of what they look like.

I agree those BBS LM's look great. Were they a straight swap for a late model 348? Most of the links I see on the net are for Porsche uses.

I have bolts off of a (BMW M5) I think? holding them in place same thread ect... But longer to accommodate for offset, otherwise it was a straight swap I will try to get you the dimensions/details of the wheels, might not be until tomorrow (my cars are in storage).

On second thought I knew I bought a 12 Mega pixel camera for something,
this what I could get from the pictures:
    Front tires 225/40/18
    Rear tires 265/40/18
My rear tires are slightly too small for the rims but they are new and I cant get myself to throw them out for a new pair.

I need to take new/better pictures, but here is one just to get an idea of what the wheels look like....

I also wanted to say I have no spacer, But the "hubs?" on my wheels are so wide that it is almost as if I did.

Man that looks sharp. Do you know what the bolt pattern is? I'm looking at a 17" set (I also have new tires I don't want to waste) from a Porsche. The seller lists the bolt pattern as 5-130. Did they make the BBS LM wheels with different bolt patterns available?

Ferrari Detailer, what are the offsets on those wheels?

I feel those are the best looking wheels for the 348.

Ferrari's bolt pattern or Pitch Circle Diameter (PCD) is 108 or 5X108. BBS makes the LM for Ferrari in 18"s..

Chris, no more wheel changes for me. It took me a year and half and several $$$$ in figure out that I like the 355 wheels best. However, a certain 512TR has been on my mind lately:):)
