I know this has been previously discussed, but cannot find the thread.
Some interior items of my 360 have become "gummy" or "sticky": Radio and window control buttons (rubber), door lock knobs (plastic) and recently the two small air vent grilles over the dashboard are starting to loose their color (black matte plastic).
It seems many fellow F car owners share the same frustration.
Are there any products to correct this?
    Thanks
    Ed

I hope that I do not get booted for this, but do you have a son that is going though puberty? A 360 is a very sexy car!

If the threads mentioned above don't help, there are a LOT of posts on this topic in the 348/355 section (do a search) with remedies and how-to repairs.

To my knowledge, I have no kids, and never been married.
However, if you are a TRUE Ferrari owner, then you should know better we all have 2 "puberty" darlings to support: Kimi and Felipe
And remember, not only the 360, but ANY ferrari is sexy car.

Holy **** I can understand the 348 355 they are based on the same car but you would think that by the time the 360 came out that problem would be fixed there is no excuse for this I'm sure thousands have complained to Ferrari and yet they still produce a very expensive auto with sub standard equipment.

Question what causes this phenomena, I had a similar thing occur on my jet ski after I started using Spray Nine on it it took about 1 yr for the problem to arise and then all my handles became sticky. Now I know that most auto detailers use Spray Nine so I wonder if that could be one of the culprits.

It should be about 5-7 years before we get these questions from the 430 owners. I think they have the same texture coating on the interior plastics...
Since the problem does not show up until after the warranty expires, it is not a problem for the manufacturer.

They'll have the same problem on most of the switches, some upper dash vents, etc. God bless Ferrari.... no other manufacturer could get away with this for 19 YEARS. (Yes, 1989 348, all the way to 2008 430's)

The sticky stuff I've experienced is from is from sun damage. The rubber or plastic has broken down & is beyond repair. Been there, done that. Sorry. However I do think "treatments" are to be used w/ caution as that in making a surface supple they interact w/ vinyl, rubber, & leather in a potentially dangerous way. Never trust a miracle cure. There are a few tried & true products & that’s it.

    This triggers a thought....watch out

I have a theory, that the bigger you get he less you pay attention to detail.

As such most buyers who can plunk down $250K+ for a seldom used (5th-6th) car (gross generality comming up)... don't care, and that is why FNA can get away w/ it.

There is a developer in town who does Hospitals, major office building, etc. He rakes in the $ by the millions. Yet his latest hospital expansion had elevators which were not large enough to fit a gurrny into....details.

OTOH, Newer Ferarri owners need a bain of existance just like the old school owners have.....

Slow windows..... 3x8 series, fouled plugs and off tune carbs....pre '60 crowd, sticky interiors 348+ crowd....it's all part of the ownership experience...enjoy it =)

My 1989 348 has this problem (twice). I solved it permanently the second time by removing and using the oven cleaner to get all the coating off.
    It's nice now.
