Hey gang, Well, i have officially learned my lesson, and this should be the first thing printed in your owner's manual. "Congratulations on your purchase of your Ferrari. Do not ever park it where you cant see the car, or always park it up at the front by the valets. " The first incident, one of my shields were stolen, and this last weekend... after a few beers, i was headed to a new bar in town. well, the valet was located in the parking lot but the entrance was so steep, i couldnt get the car up there. so instead of risking damage to the front spoiler, i parked it down the street a little, not even much... 4 or 5 cars MAYBE. well, since i dont have keys to the doors, i left it unlocked (nothing to steal in there anyway, except for the car, but who would try and hotwire a yellow Ferrari right on the street right? lol) well, instead of stealing the car, someone opened the doors and stole my freakin FLOORMATS! i was soooo mad.. anyway.... ok, i obviously have the ignition key, but no door lock keys, so. 1. how could i get keys made 2. thoughts on getting an aftermarket alarm so that i can lock/unlock with a remote
thanks! but once i get the correct keys ordered and receive them. how would i get them cut to match my cylinders? locksmith? is it THAT easy?
They cut them, based on the key numbers -- it's that easy (if you have key numbers - check your owners manual). They can also do it from photos.
ahh ok... so now i just need to find the key codes.. i read more about it. do you think my local F of Houston would have my key code based on my VIN #?
Local dealer can order you cut keys with your VIN, title and photo ID. Or at least they claim they can - last 348 keys I ordered from FoSD came blank.
How about a free set of Lloyd mats, as a sympathy present from the Brotherhood? Call or PM me, and I'll get them rolling. THAT BLOWS!
Since when is the door key on a 348 different than the ignition key? One key fits all locks on my 348.
I was wondering the same thing... I have one key for everything...maybe someone has changed the ignition in the OPs car...or, the door locks... Mike in Kuwait
I'm not sure if Ferrari locks have code numbers stamped on them, but in this case, it's possible that the locks have had their tumblers changed, and the actual key pattern may no longer match the number code. It's pretty easy to take a barrel apart and cut a key to match whatever sequence you have, or scramble the tabs for a new pattern and code.
Sorry buddy that sucks big time now there's an NSX somewhere out there pretending to be a Ferrari.....
Hey PAP I noticed in one of your Photos that you had a Enzo key that was cut, does it operate your 348?
You bet your ass it does! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
ahhhhh Daniel!! thanks so much for the offer, but i already ordered replacement mats first thing yesterday morning. and yeah, from all the other responses, the ONE key should operate both the ignition and the doors. DriverSource thinks that the ignition might have been replaced sometime in the past.
love it! thats it, im flying to Australia, sneaking in PAPs garage at night and stealing that key!!!................... AND his floor mats hahahaha
Wow, sorry to hear this. What kind of areas do you frequent?? I often leave mine unlocked thinking 'who would touch a Ferrari?'...guess I'll change this habit. Actually with the hidden door handles on a 355 most people look at the car and have no idea how to get in. +1 for Daniel, impressive gesture. Just wait until I post how someone stole my cam belts and tensioner bearings!
This number was sent to me when I bought some used door cylinder locks for a 355.....K7270. First, is this a key code? Secondly, if it is how does my local Ace Hdwe use this number to cut a key from? Thanks for any help
