Would anybody buy prints/ photos I took?

Hi, I was just wondering if anybody would buy either 8.5 X 11 or 4 X 6 prints/photos that I took. They would be on high quality Canon photo paper. If so what would you be willing to pay for them?

If you were subscribed, you could sell them via Ferrariads. Or if you were a sponsor....

Just trying to frame my response... can I as how old you are? May help in people providing constructive criticism...

 

I'd buy a bunny picture for my daughter. The car pictures seem a little washed out. Maybe using a polarizing filter would help during the midday photography. Also, the backgrounds are not intriguing. The people behind the cars are kind of a distraction from the picture subject matter. The last bunny picture has a nice composition.

About the background, yes I realize that, but would only do photo shoots if I had a better camera. Plus I don't think many people will ask for a photo shoot with a point and shoot.

You can get fantastic photos with a point-and-shoot camera, and crappy photos with an SLR camera.

 

That is definitely true

 

not to burst your bubble, but they look pretty amature to me. I suggest learning the rules of composure. It may help. In many of your photos you have to much distraction in the background. Eliminate what you dont need and especially things that draw attention away from the main subject. play with lighting alot. I suggest getting some bounce boards to get it how you want.

Well... if you're 12 they're pretty good. Keep working at it, and you'll get better quickly. If you are 20, they are not.

Closer to 12. Don't know how many people would let me do a photo shoot of their car at this age.
Isn't the saying "The camera is just as good as the person using it." I think a SLR might be the best for learning, since you have to learn all the adjustments, and more manual controls.

JD121 has some great car photos and he is also very young (maybe around 14-15). I think he uses some pretty sophisticated equipment, but his composition and framing are really excellent IMHO. Check out some threads that he ahs posted in.

Subject and composure is more important than camera adjustments IMO. So keep practicing. Find pics taken by others that you like and ask yourself... "why are these so good?" Learn from their work.

I can't bring myself to agree. Composition is creative, proper exposure is skill. They are equally important.

You can have the best "eye" out there, but if you can't make your camera record what you "see," then it's all for naught.



For example, I was hiking with a four friends in Idyllwild a couple of year ago. When we got to the top of a trail, there was an awesome scene with various layers of trees, mountains and fog. Everyone pulled out cameras, because everyone could see that it was magnificent. A week later, we compared photos. Four cameras, four photographers, but only one of us got the shot we all wanted.

 

I like the first Rolls Hood Ornament one but with the reflection from the red cars in the middle of the ornament it looks really strange.

 

OK you are off to a good start, and you are computer savy, so here is a recommendation. Look around for web photography forums that allow you to post a photo and then
the members offer constructive criticism. It is a good way to learn and improve. I should do it more myself, I did it a couple of times and got some immediate feedback
on one photo I posted that really opened my eyes about a certain aspect of that picture.

If you are asking 5$ a picture, you will probably do well. Beats cutting grass or running a lemonade stand. If you are asking more...

Why don't you go to car shows, offer to take pics of people in front of their favorite car, and sell that way? Might make some good money.
