It's interesting to note that the cars entering by Tony Paravano at Torrey Pines january 14 and 15 1956 wore No. 85, 185 and 285

I prefer to specify the sources (books and revues) and/or links rather than infringe the law of the reproduction rights and properties - Very thorny and conflicts sources -.

Here's a final set of pix from LM 1973. Shown are car owner Francisco (Frank) Mir, who took delivery of his comp Daytona at the track, the car in the local Renault shop, your humble servant when I was young and handsome (well, relatively speaking), and how a car looks after 17 (I think) hours. The organizers weren't going to let us run as they claimed that the paint job would be confusing to the timers, but as we were entered under NART Luigi straightened them out. Clutch disc exploded, resulting in NO forward motion.

Thanks for the photos of Daytona #37 at Lemans. The "papa loves you" on the rear boot was hard to get a photo of for my Comp. Daytona kit. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs
I just received yet another email from an author that lifted several of my photos from this thread and published them in not one but two different books! WTF! He claims it was unclear who posted the photos? You guys better be careful. David
