Sorry if this has already been discussed or posted...just surfing ebay and saw one red Lusso, and one red and one blue Daytona up.

the Lusso will sell for 600k, apparently.

How do cars such as these, presumably there are more people looking for them than fine examples exist, wind up being pimped on eBay?

Many of the cars won't actually sell on EBAY. Instead it is a free tool to advertise to millions world wide. I have sold alot of stuff on EBAY and it never ceases to amaze me how musc traffic I get on even the most obscure stuff.

It's called advertising. I sold a Lusso on Ebay, and this past week a Group C2 Le Mans car. All kinds of people make connections through Ebay. I've also sold a Porsche a Mustang
and bought my Jeep through Ebay.

Did the auction finish with a buyer and you had to pay the Ebay fees or did it end without a reserve being met and you sold it offline to an Ebayer?

    Definitely.

Increased global wealth + finite resource + exceptional condition + unquestionable provenance = top price and that won't be changing anytime soon.

The blue Daytona looks nice enough. However the wood rim steering wheel is wrong as are the tires. The only USA Daytona to get a wood steering wheel was the red Daytona Spyder Chinetti ordered as a show car.
However the Daytona does sport an interesting original style sticker in the engine compartment. It's green with white lettering and reads 'D B C' followed by 'D. BONALDI & C.' SpA CREMA - (ITALIA) Usually this is long gone on most Daytona models for sale.

I saw the blue car while in FL for the Cavallino Classic. Lots of little things wrong, but most of the big stuff (like the USA smog, correct late style check valve and diverter valve hose (wrong clamps though), etc.) is all there. The color was very pretty in person. I believe the owner wanted $330K for the car in January. Usually cars this late have a different Bonaldi sticker. This one was probably added on later in life.
