Trivia: Which "60 Minutes" correspondent had a Ferrari?

Any idea where the car is now? Still on the road and maybe owned by an FChatter????

Would be cool to own a car with a "history", just like the Yngwie Malmsteen (sp?) car.

My cousin John Macaluso was Ynwie's drummer for a while in the late 90s. He was the only drummer to get a solo on one of his albums. He said the guy loved his cars and in addition to the 308 he also had a fake Ferrari which he tried to pass off as the real deal...

 

Morely Safer, told a funny story about how he took the 308 to the local convenience store to pick up a few things. When he came out there were a bunch of teenagers looking at the car. He said one kid asked "I wonder who owns this car?" Another kid said, "Its owned by some REALLY OLD GUY!"

If you check Youtube you can find the footage of when 60 Minutes sent Morely Safer to Italy to visit the Lamborghini factory. Its pretty dated, and the speeds quoted are a bit optimistic but still fun to watch.

Joe Montana had a red/tan 308QV, and years ago I saw pix of what was allegedly Jon Bon Jovi's 1986 red/tan 328GTS.

Not surprising be several F1 drivers own or have owned Ferraris... Mario Andretti owned a 308GT4, Shumi had a blue 355GTS featured in an issue of Forza.
Bill Cosby, Clint Eastwood, Jame Coburn, and Steve McQueen all owned Ferraris.

I taped that episode way back in 1986. I still have it too

 

I was told by I few people that my 308 (52101) is the Montana car,
although I have not been able to prove it. DMV was no help, it was originally
sold to leasing company in Burlingame, CA, so that adds up.....

 

Cant you pay the DMV to run a title search? I thought it was "public record" as to the titles of cars, unless maybe the records in the system dont go that far back?

I did pay the DMV for a search.
I first search I received was really poor and I complained, so they looked up the records
from their microfiche and sent me more information, but not what I was looking for.
Probably a privacy issue @ DMV, especially since that tv actress got murdered.
And in my case, Montana might not have been the legal or registered owner,
car probably belonged to the mofia.....

Safer had a red 308 as well. I don't rmemeber if it was carbed or a 2Vi but I do remember it was not a QV

I got that one too by total accident. It aired the night the Saban segment was on. I recorded it while I was out of town. When I finally watched it late that night, it was like a big bonus.

 

The Wikipedia entry says Malmsteen also owned a 1962 GTO. Anyone know if he still owns it?
