I cannot get a gear in my 355F1. When I try and select 1st or reverse I can hear the actuator kick in but it stays in neutral.
I have checked the gear oil level and fuses and all are O.K. Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Dusk.

Make sure the rear bonnet is closed and latched, the F1 will not engage if it is open--- also the F1 will not engage unless the drivers door is secured..

    Might consider checking/bleeding clutch fluid.

Checked all above still no go. I just had a new clutch fitted and have only done 126klms since then. This morning took it out and it would not change from 2nd to 3rd returned home and parked it. Now can't get anything.

The local Dealer Pap, if I'd fitted it the bloody thing would work.

I am curous if this could be caused by the installer forgot the lubricate the input shaft / spline. This happens a lot, and after awhile the input shaft would rust and the clutch would not float freely on the input shaft and cause shifting issues. But when that happens you usually would experience car launches forward when you are starting the car.

Well thanks for all your help, nothing worked, I suspect a sensor somewhere has malfunctioned. So its back to the work shop.

    Best,

Hold in the UP paddle for about 30 seconds and see if it engages...

Pete, check the fuse or the relay behind the Left side seat, and or the Front Right fuse box ender the dash, there's a fuse/relay that are related to the gearbox,
if this fuse is blown it will affect your shifting. Not sure which fuse for the trans. but just look for something blown in both fuse blocks.

O.K. Thanks for all your suggestions, the problem turned out to be caused by a faulty TCU. (Computer). The unit was replaced and now everything is working as it should.(Touch wood).
The dealer had no Idea what might have caused the problem and stated it was the first time he had experienced this with a 355.
I did have the car on a trickle charger when we had a power surge that tripped all the circuit breakers in the house. When I mentioned that as a possible cause he said he thought not.

Cool cool. Fair enough mate. :):)
I also dont think the power surge was an issue. Just one of those things me thinks. :):)

Thanks for updating us Pete. :):)
