That's cheating - that's "copper" and I knew someone would post that car (it's stunning btw).. The brown I had in mind was the chocolate colour that some Urraco were delivered in - Was a miura ever so clothed? And I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that colour - it's just to my eye I couldn't live with it knowing the available alternatives . Bax
like this one next to miura green? BTW the miura green is just few Kms from me Image Unavailable, Please Login
It would be great to see your 4812 back to its original glorious Verde Miura as it was when Ron Stern owned it. Here it is under his ownership at Silverstone in 1975... What appeals about original colors is the nostalgia factor rather than the color itself. As for the non-Lamborghinisti, if they are in any way open-minded, the revelation that lime green was the original color should calm them down... Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
"The colour you speak of is "Luci Del Bosco" (Lights Of the Forest). Yes Miuras were painted thus... the attached images are from different formats so excuse the colour variation." Golly that is BROWN isn't it? I couldn't possibily ever contemplate anything that BROWN - It's one saving grace from my viewpoint is that it must be the fastest BROWN thing on earth. But I'm sure it is loved & cherished just as much as any miura -it's just so goddam BROWN. Bax.
I really have to agree... especially if it has not been 'modified' into some Jota-thing. Joe www.joesackey.com
The first thing I want to say is that the title I ascribed for the book was simply "Lamborghini Miura". But after the esteemed publisher went through all the material (in a lot less time than the 15 years its taken me to put this thing together!), he was adamant that it should be called "Lamborghini Miura - Bible". Something to do with the completeness of the work.... Please dont think that I have lost it and now I think I am the Miura God or something silly: as I said, chalk that one down to Pulisher's Choice, and who am I to argue with someone who has been publishing automotive books for the best part of 40 years? There will always be more received Miura wisdom so the book will have updated versions as time goes by. I have a feeling that the first version will be very special though and cherished by those (myself included) who have had to wait 20 plus years for a good Miura book that covers every single Miura chassis number. www.veloce.co.uk and the for Book Search type in "Miura"... I think they want it out by Spring 2009. Veloce will print, publish and distribute the book, whilst I get on with life Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
