Thoughts on options and colors? For those at meadowbrook... was that Alfa red or the special 8C red? Which one is darker? Half tempted to do a custom color but the option price is ridiculous. Most of the options are not that appealing to me which I guess is good because they aren't cheap What does everyone think?
any chance you could post the options list??? i really liked the darker red as well, but the black was really nice....
Here's how I would spec it: Rosso Competizione/Red leather (not basket weave); standard wheels, red calipers; Quadrifoglio on front fenders; floor mats, car cover, battery tender. and maybe: carbon driving zone; custom luggage set; 8C Experience day (I think this might only be available in Italy: it's a day of familiarization with your new 8C at the Balocco test track with Alfa engineers and test drivers. Tire change included).
Check out the color samples in direct sunlight: You will note that the Black has beautiful blue mica flakes; and the yellow is also surprisingly metallic (but the flakes are not blue). They are both very unusual and stunning. Of course, the best color is the one you like most, not what someone else thinks!
Here is a repost of the options: Standard Alfa Red (no cost) Multi-Layer Mica-Finished Colors $6180 Custom Color Sample Match $22,070 Micro-Perforated Full-Grain Leather (no cost) Twisted Woven Leather $3530 Natural Suede Leather $3530 Shade on shade stitching (no cost) Customized stitching color $440 Alloy rims (no cost) 5 spoke racing alloy rims $11,475 Painted rims $1,500 Painted brake calipers (black - no cost) Painted brake calipers (red, yellow, aluminum) $1,590 Sports Car Brandname shields $1410 Carbon steering kit $4,415 Ceiling and Center Console Leather $1,590 Passenger Holder Leather $795 Personalized Limited Edition Badge (in silver) $710 Bose Sound System $5,300 iPod Connection $440 Sat Nav $2,295 Racing Tires "P Zero Corsa" $6,180 Schedoni Luggage $5,300 Passenger compartment mats $350 Vehicle cover $710 Battery charger $350 Fire extinguisher $710
22K for a custom color......YIKES !!! I see waht you mean. I would ask if they would ship it with no paint and refund you 22K!
wow thats a crazy list. it may e shock to me because ive never speced a car like this. how does the option list on a 430 read?
Yes... Very excited. I owe a HUGE thank you to Napolis who helped me get on the list. Hopefully we will meet sometime and can compare our experiences with this great car.
Not sure on standard 430 but the 430 Scuderia list looks like: Out of range paint color $2,888 Custom match paint $10,343 Racing stripes $8,094 Gold colored wheels $1,745 Carbon fiber exterior, rear $16,863 Carbon fiber exterior, under door $8,094 Colored brake calipers $1,018 Underdoor in black alcantara $2,215 Door sill in carbon fiber $2,643 Underdoor in black leather $2,575 Underdoor in technical fabric $1,811 Dedication plate in silver $405 Alcantara trim interior $4,272 Leather trim interior $5,161 Tone on tone stitching $405 Custom color stitching $405 Trolley luggage $2,058 Trolley + softbag + suitcase $4,774 Integrated radio/cd/bluetooth $3,052 6 CD changer $1,181 Fire extinguisher $574 iPod installation $821 Space saver wheel kit $1,142 New integrated radio/nav/bluetooth $4,711
This is going to be a fantastic car. You've probably already optioned it by now, but if I were optioning one, here's what I'd pick: Alfa Red Black leather, stock seats Carbon Fiber Wheel Stock rims Leather headliner Floor mats Cover Battery charger It's just my personal preference, but I would skip all the high end stereo stuff, and the $18,000 in wheel/tire options, unless you're going to track it. My only thought here is that US customers took a $100,000 hit on the chin due to poor exchange rates. I think the euphoria over the car would have been greater if it had been less expensive stateside.
You may want to consider the Battery charger. What you're getting is the wiring and easily accessible plug.
Thought about that... the yellow they have is not very nice. A lot of orange in it compared to Ferrari yellow.
Here's where I ended up on my 8C selections: Color - Rosso Competizione Calipers - yellow Interior - Nero (basket weave pattern); grigio stitching CF steering wheel & dash Leather headliner & lower dash Racing wheels Ipod BOSE Battery charger Luggage Car Cover (2) Note - Of my multiple Ferrari's, I've never owned a red car, but Alfa's Rosso Competizione is stunning! Twisted Woven ("basket weave") leather treatment on seats is both unique and gorgeous.
Maybe the insurance company would discount the priemium if the car had the fire systems and this would save you money over time. It is a fire sytems and and not a extinguisher, correct?
