Per my local dealer, the 2009 TL-S will have ~325hp and Acura's new SH-AWD . Sounds like Acura is trying to compete with the Germans...

If they are gonna keep it at the same price point I would argue that they are trying to keep up with the Cadillac CTS.

I actually like modern AWD better than RWD...especially if it has the yawl control like the S-AWD in the EVO X and the SH-AWD Acura now has...those systems do away with the typical under steer of previous AWD systems and will allow enough over steer to drift around corners. I test drove an EVO X GSR and it felt great...I'm waiting on the EVO X MR and Acura TL-S AWD to come out before making my final decision on what to get to replace my M5 as a daily driver...

    Can yawl hear me? :)

And IMO even "modern" AWD still sucks. Adds weight, and takes away driver control. It's only good if you live in the snow belt.

I meant yaw control...but, here in Georgia we do have to exercise yawl control too...especially when talking with yankees...

Takes away driver control...are you kidding me? WRC drivers would disagree ... have you ever seen the Dakar or any WRC races for that matter? WRC racing requires the most driver control of any type of racing ...while AWD does add some weight, its increased control more than makes up for the extra weight with better control...especially with the modern electronic adjustable center differential that allows you to adjust the torque split, yaw and traction control...

rest? ... your case is asleep...the ability to adjust is a good thing which gives a driver more control...not less...

I do not think so...the new AWD systems with yaw control gives the driver more control over the car as well as more control over what the car does on the track or off. They have adjustments for tarmac, gravel/dirt or snow/ice as well as many traction control settings which give the driver an almost unlimited ability to adjust the car. If you want to over steer around fast sweepers at the track, you can adjust the system where it is almost 100% RWD...if you are on a surface with less grip. you can dial in more fwd as needed....or you can just turn everything off...you can even do donuts with these new AWD cars...they are not like the AWD cars of years ago which under steered like a pig...stop by a Mitsubishi dealer and test drive an EVO X with its S-AWD yourself and see what you think... the 2009 Acura TL-S is supposed to have a similar system called the SH-AWD...

    325Bhp and SH-AWD?

I feel like I've totally lost any reason to own my current one. :(

I'm old school and prefer RWD also but I do appreciate the certain aspect's AWD bring's, I'm not a fan of FWD but would be willing too make a few acceptions. Acura makes a very high quality vehicle imo and I still remember as if it was just yesterday test driving an Integra in '89 and falling in love with the 'hot knife thru butter' shifter.

I'm still rocking my 05 Acura TL Auto w/nav. It has been a highway warrior to say the least. With around 104k miles on her now it has been completely trouble free. Although the new ones don't even compare to these things.

Why bring back a three year old thread to say that?

There was a post made just before his that was made yesterday, it has since been deleted because it was spam. The deleted post was the one that brought this thread back to life.

Umm excuse me I did not bring back a 3yr old thread I merely commented in an ongoing thread. Another thing while we are discussing your disapproval of old threads, who gives a fawk if someone wants to bring back an old thread!! Seem's too me any reasonable person MIGHT SEARCH a topic before starting a new one of the same subject matter which I'm certain you would be the first to tell them "Use the search option ok!".

Anything else you wanna get off your shoulders????

Well if you read the post above yours you would see that it wasn't you who brought it back up, which I didn't know, so my bad. Sorry to get your panties in a wad.
