    Thoughts on options and colors?

    For those at meadowbrook... was that Alfa red or the special 8C red? Which one is darker?

    Half tempted to do a custom color but the option price is ridiculous.

    Most of the options are not that appealing to me which I guess is good because they aren't cheap :)

    What does everyone think?

    The Red at Meadowbrook was the special red and is optional.

    Here's how I would spec it:

    Rosso Competizione/Red leather (not basket weave);
    standard wheels, red calipers;
    Quadrifoglio on front fenders;
    floor mats, car cover, battery tender.

    and maybe:
    carbon driving zone;
    custom luggage set;
    8C Experience day (I think this might only be available in Italy: it's a day of familiarization with your new 8C at the Balocco test track with Alfa engineers and test drivers. Tire change included).

    Check out the color samples in direct sunlight:

    You will note that the Black has beautiful blue mica flakes; and the yellow is also surprisingly metallic (but the flakes are not blue). They are both very unusual and stunning.

    Of course, the best color is the one you like most,not what someone else thinks!

    This is going to be a fantastic car. You've probably already optioned it by now, but if I were optioning one, here's what I'd pick:

    Alfa Red
    Black leather, stock seats
    Carbon Fiber Wheel
    Stock rims
    Leather headliner
    Floor mats
    Cover
    Battery charger

    It's just my personal preference, but I would skip all the high end stereo stuff, and the $18,000 in wheel/tire options, unless you're going to track it.

    My only thought here is that US customers took a $100,000 hit on the chin due to poor exchange rates. I think the euphoria over the car would have been greater if it had been less expensive stateside.

    You may want to consider the Battery charger. What you're getting is the wiring and easily accessible plug.

    What a dilemma to have. :) I'd spec it in white paint with black leather.

    Yellow with black interior... would be VERY rare and will probably hold it's value better.

    Thought about that... the yellow they have is not very nice. A lot of orange in it compared to Ferrari yellow.

    Here's where I ended up on my 8C selections:

    Color - Rosso Competizione
    Calipers - yellow
    Interior - Nero (basket weave pattern); grigio stitching
    CF steering wheel & dash
    Leather headliner & lower dash
    Racing wheels
    Ipod
    BOSE
    Battery charger
    Luggage
    Car Cover (2)

    Note - Of my multiple Ferrari's, I've never owned a red car, but Alfa's Rosso Competizione is stunning! Twisted Woven ("basket weave") leather treatment on seats is both unique and gorgeous.

    Maybe the insurance company would discount the priemium if the car had the fire systems and this would save you money over time. It is a fire sytems and and not a extinguisher, correct?
