Love it, Jimmy !!! I've already put in my pre-order for the 2nd-placed #24 '67 Daytona 24 Hours berlinetta version.
Hi Mark.... since you work at GMP, I want to drop you guys a hint on your next 1:18 Ferrari..... "Think about a Dino 206 S" to be sold along with your 330P4 Ferrari ;-)
Thanks for the suggestion. A 206 would be great, but the changes are pretty substantial from the P4, so we're watching the sales pace and reviewing the cost for tooling. As to what version is next, we honestly haven't finalized the plan yet. It's scheduled for Nov. this year so we'll make a decision later this Summer. Your input is definitely welcome if you have a preference!
There is a yellow 330 P3 coupe on the Victory By Design Ferrari DVD. A more beautiful car I do not recall seeing. Something along those lines would be my vote. Since you will be putting out a number of versions, maybe you could mix up race and 'presentation' versions, reds, yellows, spyders, coupes.... And Mark, since you are monitoring this board (very cool, by the way), for your next project, go way outside of the ordinary and make some 1930's Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 A and B models. Again, some supreme examples can be found in Victory By Design's Alfa Romeo DVD. They even credit the owners of the machines, so you will know who to contact for pics and measurements... Couldn't help myself - gotta pitch that to anybody who'll listen
I think CMC might produce a 1930's Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 1:18 scale car soon as I seen this on their site last year.... just fyi
Hey guys... let show Mark (Itsa GT4) at GMP that we all want a 1:18 scale Dino 206S for the next Ferrari produced from them and put in your vote to support the idea.
My wish list would be: pre-war Scuderia Ferrari Alfa (P3?) 250 MM Vignale spider 250 GT Tour de France 500 TRC 206 S lots of versions of the 330 P4/412 P 312 P '69 512 S/M 312 P '72 Thanks to Mark by the way for catering to our needs! Best, Peter
Have you ever considered making a 275GTB/4 cam version or something really unique like a 500 Superfast or A SuperAmerica Aerodynamico series II. Does anyone know of a 1/24 or larger scale model of the 57 lwb Tour de France Cpe with the Zagato Body s/n 0515. I owned it in the late 60's and have only a 1/43rd scale model of it for my shelf.
You Get My Vote for the 206 DINO!!!! I would love to see more upscale examples of Classic Ferrari's rather than the new stuff. I have the Joueff Versions as well, & I would trade them anyday for the better Quality versions.
The thread is supposed to be about GMP's forthcoming 1:18 P4 (and possible variations to follow ) .... Not every 1:18 scale Ferrari you'd like them to make. Don't forget that Mattel has a lot of the licensing tied up too. That 'yellow 330 P3 coupe' you referred to is more correctly known as a 412P - chassis s/n #0850. In case you hadn't seen it there's a recent 10-page thread about #0850 in the Vintage section: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=176081 Lots of photos, couple of links to YouTube video clips - and contributions from the car's previous owner and mechanic too.
Interesting that de Cadenet referred to it incorrectly in his video. Still, that is the variant I would like.
Mark... I know there's going to be two GMP's 1:18 Ferraris out this year besides the 330 P4, so what's the other Ferrari going to be???????? Can you mention about it yet???
I apologize, but It's a bit premature to say anything yet. We'll determine a release date based on sales of this initial offering, so it will probably be several months until we know for sure.
I need an update as well. I need to be sure I have the funds after I buy my camera this coming week. Got to have that 1st.
CMC, GMP and BBR are making incredible miniatures and set new standards. Pieces of art in big numbers.... No collector would have predicted this a decade ago. The side-effect is that several handbuildcompanies can never compete in this pricerange. The world of modeling is going to change......a lot! Still a beautifull car! (being a handbuiltcollector, this is one I need to have)
We've got the cars in production now with a build rate of approx 200 - 300 per week. The first allocation should leave the factory this Friday, so we'll see them in about 30 days. It will take us a bit of time to get cars to all of the dealers so if you do have one on order, your patience would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to call or e-mail if you have any questions or want more info. Thanks! Mark GMP
