Well, they're quite intimidating looking.

They rank the dogs by DNA testing every one of them, then a big process about their height (75cm+ from the back), the look of the tail, the head, and their coat color. Ratings are AAA, AA, A, B, C, D

AAA dogs fully grown are close to a million US dollars, puppies are no less than 100k each. AA dogs are around 40k.

 

And if you've ever seen how 'valuable' dogs are treated in China, you'd never have anything to do with such a trade. Just take a look in the background of those photos... The dogs are treated solely as commodities and have a miserable life.


BTW, back closer to the original topic of this thread, those who refer to Macquarie as 'a bank' thinking that means it will be fine in the long term should remember it isn't a 'bank' in the regulatory sense, it has no 'deposit base' and the biggest portion of its funds comes from money borrowed where? I have to disagree with you on that one Kerrari. I've personally went to some of the Dog homes in China, and they are treated the best of what the place can offer. You're quite correct that the back ground of some of the places you see looks poor and about to fall apart, and believe it or not, people live in those and they don't live much better than the dogs.

The well off "Dog House" are very good, very similar to what you'll see in a good zoo actually. Some breeders with limited amount of dogs have them live in house. However due to the nature of these dogs, they are required to be leashed at all times. Trust me, many Chinese live more miserable life than these dogs.
