Driving from PA to NC....Cool things to see on the way down?

you could visit the museums and monuments in DC. You could stop over to FOW to drool over some cars..... You could also hit the Udvar-Hazy Air and space Museum out by Dulles Airport.... very cool.

 

don't forget a trip through charles county, plenty to see there!

If you like antiques there are a slew of places. Get the "driving I95" book to see where. The Marine Corps museum at Quantico is a must see. There is The Ava Gardner museum as well.
The Cape Hatteras light is a highlight as is the Battleship North Carolina. Also, at the welcome center you can get any number of brochures.

 

Where in NC? Do some of the Blue Ridge Parkway for excellent views. YOu can stop in Ashville and see the Biltmore
